Old Custom House Inn, Key West

We checked into a dirty room and had to ask twice to get it cleaned. They made the beds but didn't clean and left us with the previous guest's dirty towels, overflowing wastebaskets and no toilet paper. This was over Christmas and they closed the office and we never saw anyone again for 4 days, not even on the day we were scheduled to check out. We paid a premium price, in advance, for the holiday and they were essentially closed. We had to buy our own toilet paper and towels. We paid a key deposit (??) and no one was there when we checked out. Two weeks later we haven't received a refund or a response to our request. There are so many good places to stay in Key West - don't stay here. It is next door to an outdoor bar and the bands play until 2 AM, then the bar downstairs blares music until 4AM...and the rooster starts crowing at 5AM. The drunks stand around the door to the room and harrass you as you come and go. You can hear them partying until 4AM. The beds were mattresses on the floor and the windows couldn't be locked. We are filing complaints with the city and the state.
