Not worth the money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/27/09
We stayed here at the end of our vacation. It is beautiful looking but not many places to eat. Lighthouse's menu includes everything on it - no picking what you wish to eat. A little of everything. This is not mentioned when you make the reservation. So if you can't eat something (say allergic to fish) too bad you still pay $40.00. On weekend pool over crowded with people not staying at hotel bringing their coolers and luggage. Hard to find a place to sit in the shade. For the price it should be exclusive to paying guests at the hotel. Floor of pool had shells on it - you could hurt yourself, kids block steps with rafts and no one seemed to be in charge although there were people with "lifeguard" shirts on. Our room had a nice view, Shower stall floor had pink on caulking - felt not clean and came away with lots of bites.Checked bed and don't know where the bites came from. I am still itching. I reserved 55 minutes for a $70 massage and upon entering dressing room after the massage I looked at my watch (none around) and found my massage lasted about 35 minutes. When I complained, they agreed and had me pay for a 25 minute which was 45.00. It was not worth it. Would not come back.

Mixed Review
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/14/07
Playa Bonita is a pretty place with attentive English speaking staff. The room was very nice and overlooked the water. It is close to Panam City so getting there is not a big chore. The hotel was overpriced with a standard fare common to all the Interconental hotels in Panama. The bed was hard. The "no see ums" were BAD and I came away with many itching bites. There were ants crawling all over the refrigerator. The pools are nice and the beach, although it looks nice is a questionable bathing area because of proximity of the canal. We left early. Drive a little - save a lot - go to Decameron or Playa Blanca.

Definite Possibilities
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/11/07
Can you say language barrier? Brush up on your Spanish folks, this one's a toughie! The setting is fabulous, just remote enough. The room was nice and kept clean but for a two year old resort should have had some more in basic amenities. The service was great once you got your request across, try to make a spa appointment with someone who speaks no English-oh boy! The pools were great, beach was clean food was so so. I would probably go back after a few big Spanish lessons.

Amazing!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/19/06
This hotel is the perfect location to get away and relax. The staff is very helpful. The breakfast was wonderful and dinner at the Lighthouse was memorable (in a good way!) I recommend booking a massage while you're there...ahhhh...so nice!! :o) Make sure to check out the Concierge as they are very much in the know about where to go and what to do. We truly enjoyed our stay! I would definitely recommend it to leisure travelers and families.
