Not a good choice!
By davliz, 8/26/12
I am writing this to warn others who may be considering this resort for their vacation. I wish that I had read an honest review prior to booking my trip. First off, our room was so filthy that if I walked across it in my barefeet, the soles of my feet would be black within a few minutes. Our room was rarely cleaned, toilet paper had to be asked for as it was never restocked. The bed was dirty and we were both bitten by bugs in the night. Our water was turned off several times, the phone rarely worked and an alarm would go off outside of our room several times every day and night. Our safe did not work and after several attempts to get it fixed we just gave up and carried our valuables with us. The mini bar was rarely stocked and never with what we asked for. The food in the restaurants is just ok, the entrees are often repeated through the week and at the beach grill I saw a large cockroach walking across the upper portion of the grille, I told the server but it did not bother her and noone tried to stop it or keep it from the food area. As our stay ended I had booked a private car at an additional cost to take us to the airport, it was 30 minutes late and then broke down on the highway. The resort sent us another car to pick us up on the side of the road. We were an hour and a half late getting to the airport and just barely made our flight. When we complained to the driver he told us we should accept inconvenience more easily. I can appreciate that sometimes things happen of which one has no control, like a car that breaks down, but after a week at this dirty, noisy, unkept hotel the last thing I wanted to hear was "get over it." It was a very expensive mistake to book this resort and I hope I can help other people to make a better decision.

The best vacation ever!!
By Nancy, 3/20/12
We had such a great time there......the staff was so friendly and just made you feel like you were so important. We had a beautiful ocean view from our balcony. The place was small enough that we met and made so many awsome friends while on our 5 nite stay there.......Andy and I would love to go back again and again. It was a vacation we both will always have in our memories!

first time LOVE IT!
By Becky, 1/14/12
First time to an all inclusive resort, LOVED IT! the staff was great. There was always something to do. we met a great group of friends and are still in contact. the food was deliscious. Next time we go, we probably won't do the Dunn's Falls(only because we did it our first trip). We would love to have our same room to spend our 40th Birthdays this June 2012! we would like to stay longer than the 8 days we stayed the first time around!

Definitely Not 4-5 Stars
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/28/11
Disappointed / No Where Near 5 Stars Reading the 4 & 5 Star Reviews on Trip Advisor & Cheap Caribbean may have contributed to our disappointment. Couples Sans Souci, conservatively, is 2 Stars. Service: Pool Side Grill ran out of napkins & silverware during lunch. CSS response was, (too bad) we’re out! Other resorts would have borrowed or replenished from a nearby restaurant. We had to use our pool towels to wipe our hands. Asked one chambermaid for fresh pool towels, as directed by CSS, she said she didn’t have any more!!! Not, I’ll get you some, just plain, NO! Asked another chambermaid for body lotion (dispensed in bathroom) told no. I found where it was stored and took some! While we, joined by two other couples, were dining at Casanova, our young waiter inquired about Halloween. We thought this young man was just being inquisitive. We obliged. The waiter returned to our table and strongly voiced his opposition to the Christian Religion, mocking Christmas, Priests and the Pope! We repeatedly requested that he drop the subject but the waiter tried to continue. During desert, one of the men in our party found a roach in his coffee (actually spit it back into his cup). Resort Crime! One of the couples we met and hung out with had their room Burglarized while they were sleeping in it! This is a serious crime not taken too seriously by CSS! Dining Reservations: Don’t be discouraged if you can only make late reservations at either restaurant. We had late bookings, showed up an hour to 90 minutes early, and there was no problem seating us. The restaurants seemed to be only ¼ filled every time we went. My wife and I are not the pushy type who demands to be waited on hand & foot. We did not get that warm and welcoming feeling like we’ve experienced at other resorts in other countries. We will not be returning to Couples or Jamaica.

Fantastic
By NO MA'AM, 4/21/11
First of all if you only read part of this, read the part about the staff. I would like to downplay Sans Souci and keep the crowds away, but I can't. I will start off with the two negatives though. The worst thing was the nearly 2 hour ride from the airport. Comfortable, but after a 4 hour plane trip..... The other "negative", the grounds at the resort are spread out and there are A LOT of stairs to climb. Especially if you're in G block like we were. Now the good stuff. Food - great!!! From the high end fare at Casanova, to burgers and fries and Belle Vista, everything was top notch. The breakfast buffet at Pallizina had the best eggs I've ever had. And chocolate croissants. Our room was very nice although my wife found it dated, she got over it quickly when we got onto our balcony. Stunning views of tropical vegatation and the ocean. We had room service breakfast on the balcony more than once. The walk to get food or to the main beach was a trek, but there were two other pools and two bars fairly nearby. We had an Ocean View Suite. Quieter than the Beach Front Suites. The staff. Perhaps Sans Souci's best feature. These people genuinely seem to enjoy being there and making your stay as good as it can be. Here is my favorite example. On our second day there (we stayed a week) my wife left a note for the maid asking if she could get a hand held mirror. The next day one appeared. One of those with mirrors on both sides. Although one side the glass was cracked. No matter. A few days later we met the maid who asked if we would be so kind as to leave the mirror in the room when we left. It was her own mirror she had brought from home so my wife would have one. This is the kind of place that will see more of my business. The entertainment staff was always trying to organize activities that weren't scheduled at the time. Ping pong, pool volleyball, trivia etc. This place is a little more on the quite side. If you're looking for a place to party, maybe not the place to go. Not to say it was boring, and there was night life. Just a little more laid back. This was a great vacation. Sans Souci was just that "No Worries".

Hidden Jewl
By 1491, 3/11/11
I loved how this was a smaller resort. It was situated in this dense green covered cove It was not just a big square cement hotel along a beach. You can tell this place has character and has been around. The different levels of low ground level then to high ground level with the different buildings spread out along private paths and tree lined walkways. love the views from the higher spots on the resort. Overall a great experience for me and wife food and drinks were all good along with the people

Exceeded Expectations
By Stoneface, 3/1/11
Went to San Souci in September 2010 for 6 nights. After a delay in landing due to weather, head off for the 2 hr. drive to the resort. (This was the only negative) Upon arriving, we were met by a friendly staff. We had a Beachfront room that offered a beautiful and unrestricted view. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Went to all restaruants and was never disappointed in the food. This is an all adult resort, so there were no children around to splash you. Would difinitely recommend this resort. Returning in May 2011

Amazing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/7/10
Stayed in October 2009. This place was amazing! The service was top notch; they weren’t annoying but at the same time they made sure your needs were being met and never once gave you a look like they expected a tip. If anything they tried to make sure you took advantage of the activities they offered (all free) or even would bring you fresh fruit while sunbathing on those really hot days, all proactively. I never saw any lines or tipping other than when you would leave the resort for a trip, so be prepared to have everyone on the trips ask for tips, while the hotel staff treats you great no matter what. Not only was the food as good as it looks on their website, but there was a good variety of food and I never had a problem finding fresh food that didn’t look like it was sitting there for a long time under a heat lamp. The drinks never stopped and were all prepared to order, weather it was my wife who liked the fresh smoothies and hand shaken lemonades, or my love of trying every alcoholic concoction they knew (I recommend the dirty banana). The resort is nice, I liked it mostly because it was spacious and felt very secluded. It didn’t feel like a big chain resort with lots of people and lines, there also weren’t any college parties, or kids crying…it was all about peace and great service. It feels like you’re in a private park with many private paths, hammocks, and little nooks and pools to relax. The beach is landlocked so that no one can get to the beach unless they were on the resort. They do allow a vendor (carvings, pottery, ect) on their resort and they will try and get you to buy things if you talk with them, but if you stay away they don’t seek you out. The only word to the wise is that when you leave the resort, be careful because shopping or any excursions usually puts you in situations where the locals hound you to buy things…and they can be like white on rice quick and don’t understand the word “no” very well. I advise you be careful and stay on the resort as much as you can…you’re not missing out on much if you do! We can’t wait to go back!

Couples Sans Souci was outstanding!
By Shorty, 3/4/10
Couples Sans Souci was outstanding, me and my husband were married there in 2006 and stayed 7 nights. The resort was very clean, the food was outstanding and the staff was very friendly. Food is available 24/7 along with room service, a mini bar that is restocked daily in each room, 2 upscale restaurants that require reservations and a dress code (all inclusive), and unlimited beverages of your choice. If your looking for a quiet and relaxing adult vacation in Jamaica this is the place to go.
