Rooms on the Beach, Negril

Stayed here for 1st time this year. Have stayed many places in Negril, but found this place clean, nice friendly. Am intending on getting married in March 2012 and Rooms on the Beach is where it is going to be. The staff are very helpful, pool and rooms were cleaned daily. Breakfast was continental which was ok some mornings but you always had a choice of buying somthing hot either on site or off which is nice as it makes you venture out. There was a influx of people coming and going so the place must be popular with locals and tourists.

I stayed in a room on the 3rd floor (prepaid or I would have left) for 7 days. The floors in rooms and else where were all tile and made every noise both out on the beach and in the rooms nearby very noticeable. The furniture in the rooms were worn out. with scratches in table tops and wear holes in the chairs. witch made being in the room uncomfortable. I heard several other guest complaining about this. The smoke detector was covered with tape and there is no vent fan in the bath so it is always very humid. On one day my room was cleaned and they took my towels but did not leave me any clean ones. The people at the reception desk were mostly friendly. They state they have laundry machines on each floor but there is only one washer and one dryer that works and it is on the first floor. As far as food service. If your Jamaican you can expect fast service otherwise expect long waits and cold food. This was even the case for a women who needed hot water for mixing baby formula. There is a nice but small pool but it was open only 2 days. Someone had thrown up in the hallway and it took them 3 days before they cleaned it up. Since many of the activities in the area are closed by 5:00 pm except the bars and pubs. you will not enjoy being in the rooms. At least the bed was comfortable and the ac worked. If I had a place to post them I have a few pictures but you’ll just have to take my word for it.

the waitress "writes" ourbill and its never the same. our room service is around 1-4 everyday never have i gotten room service in the morning like i was suppose to. everything cost more than expected and although tip is included in almost everything, you are expected to leave extra dollar or two around. i dont leaving tiptomy cleaning ladies but to a waitress i know is cheating me already? no. ive stayed at sandals over night before i was stuck staying here from online booking and let me say if i rate sandals to be a 9 rooms would be a 4. enough said.

This Hotel has Fair accommodations, but the service at the Restaurant was Horrible and that is being Kind and I have stayed on the beach in Negril for over 21 years.

This place was beautiful and well kept. Directly on the beach and also has a private beach area behind a low wall. Plenty of coconut trees on the private beach if you need shade. The restaurant was good and provided an excellent view of the beach and waves. Try the curried goat! yummmmm! There was a nice pool area but who needs it when you have the ocean waves just steps away? The gift shop has decent prices and you can get a 20 oz bottle of soda for only $1 american. The rooms were very clean. Nice up to date bathrooms and glass enclosed shower. Safe in room. Private patio/balcony at each room. Flat screen tv and remote control air conditioner. Security was great. Checked all patrons and taxis upon arrival and when leaving. Don't be offended when they get your info everytime you leave. Its for your safety. Located in the middle of 7 mile beach and surrounded by good night spots and restaurants.

I stay here for 3 nights and enjoy every moment here. This is one of the best hotel next to sandal inn in montego Bay. The bathroom is just the way i want it, friendly staff, very clean room with nice ocean view from balcony. PLEASE DON'T GO TO ROOM OCHO RIOS THE ROOMS ARE SO CREEPY NOT TO MENTION THE BATHROOM. I liked that we were able to get 2 rooms with a connecting door at an affordable price and as a last minute check in. I loved being only a minutes walk away from the beach and the pool. The hot water in one of the bathrooms was out but it was repaired within hours. Their restaurant did not have menus with prices listed. I found that to be odd - so we didn't eat there. The little convenience store at the front desk was very expensive and they tried to charge me double on the items I purchased. Could have been an innocent mistake but pay attention to how much your stuff costs. It rained the entire time I was there so I think my experience with have been much more enjoyable otherwise.
