This is a new Hotel located in the heart of the busy area of Ermita. Walking distance to major shopping Malls and the busy nightlife of bars, restaurants, clubs and manila bay foreshore.The Hotel is newly renovated, all new facilities and all rooms contain King/Double/Queen beds, hot and cold water, aircon, cable TV, refrigerator and security safe. Elevator services to all floors.Internationally recognized 3 star hotel and the cuisin is Western-oriented. Friendly bar and Billiards, are available. 8-ball tournament every Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Transport is available at the door to all the great locations outside Manila such as Angeles City, Boracay, Palawan, Puerto Galera, Cebu, Subic Bay and any other parts of the Philippines. NEVER AGAIN !

the toilet was not working due to sewerage problems, so the maintenence person brought up a bucket to flush the toilet. towels were layed behind the curtains because the windows had leaked while it had rained. had a shower and raw SHIT came up through the shower pipes. the elevator seems as if it is going to stop in the middle of the building. the room did not look nice at all, the room looked as if it had rats living in it. the beds smelt like body odour. the bathroom was dirty, had hair on the floor. all i could say is, this place in my own personal opinion is absolutely disgusting ! NEVER AGAIN !

I stay here every time I go through Manila

I like the friendly service. The rooms are larger and cleaner than any other hotel I have stayed in in Ermita for around that price. Keeing in mind that it is a budget hotel it has all the amenities you need like a good resturant and a good bar that serves cold beer, a rareity in the Philippines. The rooms are fairly well equipet with A/C, cale TV, safety box, hot shower etc. Its run by a couple of helpful Australians and their Philippino staff, who will do their best to help you. All you need to do is ask.

Crappy little hole in the wall

Avoid this dump like the plague. For over US$30 I got a tiny room with a very stinky bathroom. The AC wasn't working. The walls were made of plywood, hence very noisy. You can hear every conversation going on around you. Ants in the bed. Holes in the towels. There are plenty of new, quality hotels nearby in the same price range. Seek them out.

Great value for the budget minded!

Good location, within 5min walk to the US Embassy..BPI bank on same block, 7-11 market at the corner, Wendy's fast food if you don't want to eat at the hotel..clean and efficient room with tv, a/c, in-room toilet and shower.. My room was a great value at $1550Php (which works out to around $35usd at current exch). There is an excellent hotel shuttle if you want to visit Angeles City and Subic Bay, and it beats the $3500-$4000Php private vans that are available... I'm heading back there (from Subic Bay) next week, before I fly back to the USA....

rooms good staff and management great.food great.very comfortalble.no bad comments some rooms not much day light.could do with a little more water pressure.try it.

Stay there a few times never had any problems. the owner and staff there are fantastic and very helpful. Food is great i recomend this hotel .For the price excellent.If u want 5 star. u u pay a lot more.but i stay at southern cross any day.G.Quinn

\"N\" for never again...

Opened about 2005. Very few rooms. Some rooms have NO windows, giving the feeling of a jail cell. The bar is so smoky you choke, and your eyes burn... no ventalation, so avoid that. Pricy for what you get. I go to Manila often, but avoid this place!

A good place

From the first visit one could not help but be impressed by the personal attention given by Denis . The rooms were first class and affordable. After using the Swagman for many years, this place is like a breath of fresh air. Love the San Migal on tap at P30 all day and all night. Also the bar staff were very helpful and seemed to honestly enjoy serving you. I would not hesitate to use the hotel again and am anxious to return on my next holiday Thanks for some very enjoyable stays Fred Hosking Melbourne Australia

booking disaster

I booked this hotel (4 days in advance) to stay 2 nights. Arrived, as notified, at 10-30pm to be told they were fully booked and didn't have any room for me. They moved me to another hotel which they said was of comparable standard, but which turned out to be more expensive and was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in (and I have been in many). The hotel blamed the agent, Hostelworld. they are the only agents with which to book this hotel on this site. I made a written e-mail complaint to the agent, but did not even receive the courtesy of a reply. Furthermore, I have lost my booking fee.
