I really would like to describe my experience with CROYDON Hotel in Amsterdam.
I was supposed to be there with four friends from 21th to 23th April 2007.
We agreeded in advance with owner that we arrived at 11 a. m but he got us
waiting for the room over 6 hours! We had to wait outside with our luggage
and we felt like cheated. Specially when the non-friendly staff (that also
didnt speak english) threatened us with charging my credit card for the
whole amount of the two days if we cancel reservation.
I guess none of you have visited the place before promoting it in the Web
page but this place is the most unhealthy hostel I have ever been (and
believe me, I have travelled a lot). To get the room (dirty by the way) you
must climb dangeorus stairs. The room is small and stinks. The carpet is
dirty (not a surprise) and electrical devices in the room are old and not
safe. I would rather forget about the so-called toilett...
Finally we couldnt stay there.- The dust in the carpet and the scarce of
fresh air in room almost got us sick, so we found a new place. Anyway, we
had to pay for both nights and owner overcharged us again with 20 euros for
no reason threatening us again with charging the credit card.
All I hope is that none will have to cope with the same problems I had to
fight with in CROYDON Hotel. Dissapointing experience.
Firstly its location is excellent the central stations is very close to the hotel, and the service is good to and the restaurant below it has excellent traditional and exotic foods . and the surroundings are depthdefying and interesting
