Premium location and staff
By Jimmy, 02/05/09
We traveled throughout the country with two kids and this was by far the best hotel. It's got a great feel, plenty of space downstairs for kids to hang out, and our room and bathroom was quite large, easily accommodating 4 people. It's about 3 blocks away from a very nice lake and all the shopping and such starts on their street. Receptionists and other staff all left an excllent impression with us. We took their tours to Halong Bay and Sapa and dearly loved both places. Back now over a month, but still talk about how this great hotel made our last weeks in Southeast Asia the perfect ending to an amazing journey.

Really good!
By sara, 09/28/08
Family and I are here now, leaving tonight for home. Would just like to say thanks to the staff for all their help. I also recommend their blog from their website - really no-nonsense advice and part of the reason we chose this place. Kids have had a ball!

Lovely hotel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/07/07
Service with Personal Touch! The staff and the owners(Hieu and Ginger) of this hotel had made my stay in Hanoi rather hussle-free, and willingly running some errands for me (eg, book tickets for the puppet shown)at no extra cost). My room is at the back of the hotel, away from the street. Although there is no view for my room 504(think the bigger ones facing the main street probably have though),it worked for me, as it is thus not noisy. The room is cosy. Air-conditioned with TV and mini-bar, clean, hot-water shower and I appreciate the wifi-connection the most. The 2 trips I have booked through the hotel had been great for the prices charged. This, I found out, when I checked with people who have booked with their respective hotels(the hotels all use the same tour group, but the price charges vary, depending on comissions they intend to earn). I checked out before I went on my 2nd-day trip. However, not wanting to carry my luggage along, I left it in the hotel. The staff was willing to assist with carrying down my luggage and storing it safely, when I was out for the trip. BTW, not to forget the location of the hotel is really good. Very near to the Hoan Kiem Lake and the famed water puppet show. The price quoted in the internet is the price you shall pay. If the cost is within your budget, this is the hotel I would strongly recommend. This is unlike some other hotels, which may quote deliciously low price, but when u decide to book it, you will get another pricing instead. Some hotels may give you the low room rates as quote, but the price of trips book with them may be higher

your home away from home
By Piglet, 09/02/07
My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel in the earlier half of this month, and all I can say was that it was probably the best hotel I stayed in on our 2-week trip. They helped us out with our bookings for a Ha Long Bay tour and flights on to Hue and Saigon - we may have paid a bit on the higher side for both these things, but it balanced out in that they gave us the VIP room at the Deluxe rate (the Deluxe we'd booked was taken by someone else), and threw in a free cab ride back to the airport at the end of our stay. The tour they sold us was very nice, in a very nice, clean boat with decent to good food and guides who spoke good English. The room itself was nice, new, and clean, and the included breakfast (we both did the pho and coffee option) was very good. I would recommend this hotel to any of my friends, and their high ranking is well-deserved.

A haven in hanoi
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/14/07
I spent two days here and all I can say is wow! Rooms were immaculate, staff well-trained and tour guides were very helpful. i got great prices on my sapa trip and city tour of hanoi. no one pushed me to do anything and since i had a long flight the day before, i was really glad. make sure you see the manager Hugh or his wife -- they worked all day just to get me on a soft-sleeper to sapa instead of hard seats (train station had said it was sold out-- but Hugh worked magic!!) this hotel defines the word service! Thanks again to all the staff!
