Eagle Ridge Log Cabins, Banner Elk

Our family rented out 4 of these cabins which left alot to be desired. The cabins are all in desperate need of maintance and cleaning. There are dead flies everywhere and the counters and floors are filthy and discusting. The showers and tubs were nasty and probably haven't been cleaned in a while. The cleaning service which they charge $50 for only includes garbage removal. Our cabin was the cloudwalk & the furnace got backed up on New Years Day & the entire cabin got full of smoke everywhere. It looked like smoke from a fire. My children were up on the 3rd floor & they were sleeping & inhaling all that smoke. Everyone was asleep through the smoke & when we noticed we had to run out. The owners took about 2 hours to get there & instead of opening windows & airing the cabin, closed the windows & all the smoke and toxic gas smell stayed throughout the cabin for 3 days. The owners would not find us another place to sleep and told us it was our problem. (mind you we had 2 young children, 1 which is asthmatic, & it was snowing) They tell us this at 9pm the day it happened & insisted they did not care & would not do anything to help us. They wouldn't even get us airbeds & blankets so we could at least sleep at a family members cabin. By the way none of the cabins have sofa beds like they claim on their wedsite. The owner refused to even give us the credit for the nights we did not stay there. Buyer beware! Do not stay at this unsafe and unclean place! If you have a problem there you'll be left out in the cold. These cabins are overpriced and truely not safe.
