Pacific Reef Resort, Gold Beach

First there was no ice in the unit I stayed in had to walk very far just to get a bucket of ice, the room was not clean I found fingernail clippings on the floor in the bathroom. The screen around the sliding glass doors was rusted and looked like it had been that way for many years, there were holes in the screen door as well and the moulding around the glass of the sliding windows was completely covered with mold, very unhealthy. The chairs in the room were so hard and stiff backed they were the worst chairs I have ever experienced in a motel and this room was supposed to be a luxury room?

Sand and Sea is the only place we stay when we visit Gold Beach. We stay there at least 3 times a year and no matter what time of the year it is, we always manage to get 1 of 2 rooms. We always stay down stairs because we have 4 children from ages 3 to 12. The staff is always accomodating. We get all of the extras we need to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. It is close enough to the beach that you can hear the soothing sounds of the ocean all night. We also enjoy sitting on our private porch in the evening watching the ships come in and out. Yes, there are some issues with stains, but since I have been a motel manager, and a housekeeper before, I understand how hard it is to avoid getting and/or keeping up with stain removal. Also, it is a great price for being "on" the beach.

I loved the people who ran the Sand N Sea! Its great cause we got to bring are dog, and the location was good But the room we stayed in was really dirty and poorly maintained! The bed was very hard and lumpy the blankets needed to be tossed and the floors need a good cleaning! They are upgrating it looks like so we are excited to go back when they are done cause like I said I really like the owners they seemed like very sweet people!:)
