Comfort and Design all in one hotel
From the street (if you can call it that) The Rachamankha only winked at what we could expect here. Once we walked through the entryway and into the courtyards we knew we had arrived at one of the most unique hotels we have ever stayed out. Reception and check-in was quick. As we were taken care of we were provided with a cool towel and the most delicious fresh squeezed orange juice I have ever tasted.
The staff was polite, helpful, and unobtrusive. The courtyard and outdoor areas of this hotel were beautifully designed, in a traditional northern Thai style. The library was delightful, the pool inviting and refreshing. The room itself was simple and classic. The bathroom was fairly standard, there was a canopy bed, flat screen TV (if that interests you), wardrobe closet, desk and chairs.
The breakfast served was from a menu, not your typical hotel buffet, though included with our stay. Plenty of delicious Thai and Western style options. The coffee was rich, smooth, basically perfect. The juices were fresh beyond belief. And all in a courtyard setting with fabulous service.
Overall I cannot say enough wonderful things about this hotel. It is in the old city of Chiang Mai which made sightseeing and exploring a pleasure. On Sunday afternoon the hotel staff told us about a 'local' pedestrian street and market - this was one of the highlights of our trip.
