Wakamo Park Resort, South Kingstown

i have been taking my kids to wakamo for years...we always look forward to it...just booked a weekend for this coming september...my kids love it there ( as well as i do), i dont let them bring their computers or video games and we barely watch the tv..we always have good family fun..board games, card games, walks to the beach or just around the park...each cottage has everything you could possibly need for cooking and cleaning...also the managers/owners are great people...it is our favorite place to go

We love it here and have been going to the cottages for over 10 years. If you are looking for a place to rest, relax without the extreme comforts of a 4 star hotel... then this is the place. The people running it, Chuck and his family are wonderful. And yes, they are usually booked on the water because the people that book come back every year.

My parent's have been renting here every year since I was a kid (in my 30's now). It is not luxury, so if that is what you are looking for look elsewhere. If you want a place a short walk from East Matunuck State beach with a kitchen and all the clams and quohogs you can dig up right in your backyard it is perfect! The owners are very nice and places fill up fast. In my opinion it is the perfect beach cottage if you are simply looking for natural beauty, a place to sleep and cook the delicious fresh seafood you caught. Don't miss the beautiful sunsets and swans on the pond!

Stayed in 659B the TV worked terrible, the remote did not work, the refrigerator was noisy. Told management about the TV problems the second day of my stay. They said their son who set the TV's up was out of town until Monday. So he would come over on Tues. Tues., Wed., Thurs. came and went with no one helping us out. Stay away, they charge too much for shacks!! For $900./week, you would expect a nice tv and and a remote that works. Heck, they on got about 10 cable channels as well. So stay away!!
