A good value-if you are not too picky

Very close to the University and Bart. Be aware this is an older hotel. A bit rundown and people are residing there. The bed was comfortable and sheets clean.

If you are looking for inexpensive, yet cheery, lodging in central Berkeley, this place is made to order. The quaint, three-story hotel with its slight Victorian touches and friendly staff will make you feel welcome here. Located in the thick of things on bustling University Avenue, a mere half-block from Shattuck. BART is just around the corner, as are a host of restaurants, two independent cinemas, theaters, coffeehouses and museums. All the rooms are bright, with TVs, chairs, and some with tables and desks. The clientele is varied and includes everyone from tourists, students, would-be students and business travelers.
