Henry Derby House, Salem

My wife and I spent the weekend at the Henry Derby House and loved almost everything about it. Peg was very nice and knew everything there was to know about the area and goings on. The house was very clean. The only negative thing was the parking situation but it was really no big deal. The location of the house in relation to the things to do was great. It is walking distance to everything there is to do. I do plan on going back and would highly recommend this place to anyone.

My father and I stayed here for a week, and indeed in the room where you had to lift the door up in order for it to close properly... but you know what? BIG DEAL! The house is old, the property is old, it's in an old area of town! If you want the Ritz, then book the Ritz.... if you want a clean, friendly place to stay in the heart of the 'downtownies', then this is it... Peg also has a small store where you can buy organic vitamins directly as well as some of the decorations... She seems to adopt everyone as a 'Mom' would and even points out the better places to eat... So what if the bathroom looks old! IT'S AN OLD HOUSE!!! We stayed with the couple who posted below us (*waves* Hi guys!) as well as another couple and our one 'breakfast' lasted close to 3 hours, we even got our picture taken all together... We even parked our truck on the road beside the B&B and it was totally safe, you couldn't get away with that in my hometown! This B&B *is* haunted and is a must for psychics & ghost hunters... I already called my sister and informed her (me being older, I can inform her of things ;) ) that I am coming back, she is coming with me and we are staying here. We love you, Peg!
