Awesome hotel! Would definitely stay there again!
By The Pirate Lady, 8/16/11
My family and I have traveled to Gettysburg numerous times, but this was our first time staying at the Wyndham (it was built following our last visit a few years ago, so only a few years old, a big plus!). Let me just say that this hotel is GORGEOUS! When you first walk in, the lobby is just beautiful, like the pictures. From top to bottom the place was very, very clean! But despite all the flash, it has a family feel, we saw lots of families with children staying there. The hotel staff was really friendly; the lady that checked us in smiled the entire time, which stuck out for me. I'd never had someone to ever genuinely make me feel so welcomed! The room was clean and looked very much as advertised. The hotel is located only minutes from the center of town and is a part of the "Gateway Complex" which contains the Wyndham, another hotel, an Italian restaurant and a movie theatre, all within walking distance of each other! The only downside I give the hotel is that they did not have a complimentary breakfast, you had to pay to eat in their dining area and it was fairly pricey (we ended up eating our meals elsewhere) but again, it's a nice hotel so I'm willing to overlook that. Another thing, the pool is not as big as it appears in pictures, but still big enough to enjoy, not really that big of a deal. Overall, for the price (very affordable), we were very pleased with our stay. The next time we go back, I'm definitely booking a room with them!

Very nice, would stay again without hesitation
By Karen, 6/22/10
Very nice facility with helpful staff. Nice pool, hot tub and fitness center. No problems anywhere. Room was very clean. Beds extremely comfortable. Yes there were some scratches on a hallway wall but by no means did I experience any of the negative comments made by other guests, although I did not eat there. Free laundry room available for residents was a nice amenity. My only complaints are no in-room refridgerators and the showers, although very clean and modern, had a clear glass divider. This means that if someone else in your party needs to use the bathroom while you're showering, you are very visible. Very clean, very comfortable, and the staff seemed very helpful. Location is a bit out of town, but its an easy drive to anywhere and is in walking distance of a huge theater complex. Fast food is close. I would highly recommend it.

Would not stay here again.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/2/09
After getting lost due to poor directions given by the hotel staff and no signs for the hotel, we pulled up to a beautiful building. Check in was GREAT!! Staff was nice. Then to the room. The hall to the room appeared dirty. The room was ok...but not what I thought for the amount of money paid. No refrigerator, extremely small bathroom, paper-thin walls. Very poor considering we decided to upgrade to something nicer than usual, and regretted it after. Our room was down the hall from the elevator and we could hear the chimes to it all day long. Also, could hear the conversation of the guests in the next room. Will not stay here again!

My stay obviously inconvienced this establishment
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/29/08
Group party about 68 strong. Hotel chatering and dinning halls are nice but the meals were horrible. Breakfast was bacon and eggs and that was exactly it, nothing more or less, eggs runny as a snotty nose. The first night at dinner a lady from the staff banged in the back of my head with a tray she was bringing in for the dinner and failed to apologize, she barely spoke english and much of the cleaning teams/maintenance must have been immigrant workers who lacked looking clean or barely speaked english. The night shift was bar far the worst at the desk, I obviously inconvienced them with my request. The only meal I really enjoyed was our last nites dinner but it was like I was eating on a diet and got half portions. I left and went to a nearby restaurant later to finish my meal. The lunches they packed for our group were first of all not what was ordered and secondly lacked any concern or quality control or checks. For the price paid it was obviously lacked concern. I wouldn't even recommend this place for a individual family stay to a large group reservation. Poor in all aspects. They failed to replenish water bottles they provided and coffee. The elevator was buzzing all the time also and after three days no one had taken the time to check it out, it was so annoying I started using the stairs.

Nice, newer hotel
By Kelly, 4/2/08
We decided to make a quick trip to Gettysburg and got a room through Priceline for about $50 less than they offer it on their site. The hotel is very nice and the staff was very friendly. The rooms could have been a bit cleaner, for the level of hotel this is. There was hair in the shower and crumbs in the dresser drawers. Overall, it was pretty clean, just not very detailed. They did offer complimentary laundry facilities, which was a plus. We ordered room service, and I was less than impressed. It was pricey for what you got. I placed the order and the person repeated it back exactly how I wanted it, but when it arrived, I was missing several things I had asked for. I felt bad for making the room service attendant return. I ordered a chicken sandwich, and it was NOTHING like what the menu said it would be. The restaurant near the hotel was average. The food was ok, but nothing special and the service was poor. Overall, it was a nice place, but I would not pay full price to stay there.

Great Experience, Going Back!
By Kris_K, 3/31/08
This was a great 3 day get-away! I came in to visit family not far away and to re-see the sights with a friend. The first night, a bus full of middle school kids were already in the hotel, most of them were well mannered but some were full of "spunk"...being overly loud, throwing trash on the grounds and pushing all of the buttons in the elevator. I thought that I would most definitely be hearing them in the halls, but it was very quiet and peaceful. The trash that was thrown around (including food) was promptly picked up by staff, including executives in business attire. We had a big & comfy bed with luxury bedding...The rooms were very clean and the staff was very courteous, friendly and helpful. Also, the hotel is giving the guests the option of helping to "be green" by not changing towels/sheet until the 3rd day to cut down on detergents and water usage. But, if you choose to have everything changed on a daily basis, that is ok too. I have not lived there in 20 yrs., but the recently new hotel is not too far from Gettysburg's square, the battle fields and all of the really great restaurants. The new restaurants around the hotel look good, but locals go where they KNOW. We have already planned our next trip back to The Wyndham Gettysburg! 5 Stars!

Great for conferences but quite a ways from downtown!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/4/07
The room was awesome: attractive, comfortable and clean. My room had good sound proofing. I loved the pool and work out room but we had quite a drive to downtown Gettysburg. Also, the elevator is only at one end of a square building and I did my jogging getting to my room that was at the other end of the hall. Room service was excellent but the hotel dining room was cramped. I'd go back there for a conference but not for visiting Gettysburg. Also, I sat in the bar for 25 minutes with 3 friends and couldn't get any service...so we went elsewhere. But, overall, it was a very nice facility: new, attractive, clean and great for a conference.

very nice
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/28/07
When I was here there was leftover belongings and a bracelet on the floor that wasnt cleaned so that gave a minus. The room was well conditioned but the shower only had one door so the water came out everywhere. The reason I like this place is simply the atmosphere.

Beautiful Hotel! Highly recommended!
By LORI, 6/29/07
This hotel was absolutely beautiful and so new! It had great looking rooms with very comfortable beds. The indoor pool and spa was WONDERFUL with my kids and it also had a great exercise facility. It was also nice to have a restaurant right in the hotel. After much checking into hotels, I was very glad to have picked this one. It only took maybe 3 minutes to get downtown, but it was sooo nice to not have all the noise that the downtown hotels/inns have! A+
