We love this place. We have stayed there on several different times. The ownwers were very friendly, the room was very clean,(we had the room upstairs with a bedroom kitchen living room with a couch that turned into a bed. It also had a nice view of the Ocean.
The grounds were clean there was a park like setting with a BBQ area and a beach swing.
I did read the one review that said that the rooms smelled. That is the smell of most motels and houses in that area due to the ocean. As far as bugs there are alot of bugs in Cayucos. I had a friend who has passed away who owned the house at 5th and Pacific It was the family beach house not their place of residents, and it had that smell I stayed at that house many times over the years before it was sold. Bugs are a part of life in coastal areas. I live on the Texas coast and we have the bugs as well. If you can't handle the bugs stay away from the ocean because they are there.
The cost was a little on the high side but again welcome to the coastal area.
We spent Memorial Day weekend at the Cypress Tree Motel in Cayucos. We were in the "Garden room". We stayed here because they accept (and gladly welcome) dogs. We enjoyed this place very much. The couple that owns it has done an amazing job at restoring an old motel. They've decorated the rooms each with a theme, and it isn't cheesy or tacky, just quaint. The room was super clean, the bathroom had all new fixtures and appliances, even new tile in the shower. The room even had a DVD player. For the price and location - you couldn't do better.
