Wonderful Place to Stay
Black Bear Inn is a wonderful place to stay!
From the very moment we arrived everything was so pleasant that we were really impressed.
We arrived early, but were greeted with friendliness and were taken to our room immediately. The room was comfortable and the cleanest I'd ever seen (even compared with Hyatt's and other high end places we'd stayed at before).
We stayed in the Black Bart, where there was a wonderful gas fireplace and comfortable bed. Kithenette with coffee maker, microwave, sink and refridgerator was really nice.
Wine and cheese time was pleasant. View out the window was really nice.
Breakfasts delivered to the room were truly delicious and unique. Being INCLUDED in the price was really amazing. I'm not used to actually getting something for the money I've spent :)
The location was very convenient with the Lake, Stateline, Heavenly, Gondola, shopping, theater all being within a few minutes driving distance without compromising peace & quiet.
But above all these things I was most impressed by the owner's attention to detail. Their willingness to see that everything was good for us personally made our stay especially comfortable. Jerry & Kevin went out of their way to take care of a tiny issue that came up with the internet. We'd never been treated so well by any hotel/lodging staff before.
Just to be complete, the only tiny things that I can think of that might deserve mentioning in the negative would be that I was surprise to not have a bath tub, there's only a shower...a very nice, large shower, but a tub would have been nice. Plus the way the cabins are built, you can hear/feel the neighbor in the next unit moving around through the vibration in the floor. But I really consider these small sacrifices considering all the other great things about the place.
