I'll give it a B.

A typical W........ staff are professional and top notch. The pool on the 16th floor is AWESOME..... beautiful views, bar to enjoy a coolie, decent crowd... Saturday was a little over-run by gay guys though that were a little over the top. The cool thing to is that the pool is open 24 hours. You can go cool off and relax in the water at 1AM on a Dallas steamy summer night if you like. The rooms were a little small and had some odd functionality like drapes for a bathroom door, but it still has the cool W decor. You can tell this building was probably remodeled from another, but the rooms are still eclectic and cool. The only negative about the place is that there isn't much going on in the immediate area. Another positive is that it's walking distance from the House of Blues and Dealey Plaza. It's a typical cool W, but it's just a little limited by it's location. I really liked my stay there though, and would go back.

Would love to visit again

I stayed for a New Year's Eve celebration with friends and I enjoyed every minute of it. The staff accomodated all of our needs as soon as possible. The hotel is within walking distance to lots of good restaurants downtown. The only awkward thing about our room was the bathroom being the first thing you see when you walk into the room. Yes, this hotel is expensive but that should be obvious when you book your room and stay there so if you complain about the prices it's your own fault.

The room was awful
By ,
The bathroom has no door, the toilet has a sliding door that would not close no way to lock it. You have to slide DRAPES between beds and bathroom for any privacy to shower. If anyone else is with you, they cant go out the door cause they have to go THRU the bathroom while you are showering. All the staff were nice and helpful but I wll never stay there again

Not so much

The view is beautiful and so is the Living Room Bar. That being said I've stayed at the W Dallas twice and neither were that great. The bathrooms are tiny and the "counter top" to the sink is non-existent almost. Most of my make up, hair products, etc ended up in the sink rather than the counter since there was no space. Room service is a joke. The 2nd time there I literally had to call 3 times to get one thing delivered and then again when they forgot something the first time when they delivered to the room. In all to get everything I requested it took a little over an hour and a half to get what I wanted delivered from the initial phone call. When checking in I was told the room would be ready by 4pm and it wasn't ready until after 5 and they didn't comp the drinks in the Living Room while I waited. Of course that is all a complete downer considering how pretty the hotel is. The modern look is carried throughout the hotel, the headboard in the rooms I stayed in were beautiful tanned ostrich fabric. One of my friends had a great experience with one of the staff. She had an emotional upset that evening due to some family drama and the man noticed and proceeded to ask her if she was okay and then was nice enough to offer her a 10% off coupon to the Craft restaurant to make her feel better. No one I talked to said they would stay at the W again especially for full price.

Stop! Read before you reserve!

For a hotel (chain) that was at one time thought to have a stellar reputation, SOMETHING has gone terribly wrong. My (large) company selected the W Dallas to host it's national sales meeting. Here is what we were so "fortunate" to experience: 1.) Luke warm showers 2.)EXTREMELY rude and unhelpful concierge service 3.) Slow and less than accomodating wait staff 4.) Food that was mediocre, at best 5.) Where the hell are all the outlets in these rooms??? And the list goes on and on. The bartenders up at Ghost Bar rocked and there was a very polite gentleman, working the front door, who truly understands good customer service (I believe his name was Antonio). But are these nice gents enough to make me return? Sorry guys, probably not.

Nice but not great.......
By ,
My wife stayed here on a Saturday night. Overall it was nice but not spectacular. The location is definately a positive and we did have a city view which was very nice. Other then the view the room which is contemporary (fits our style) was just so so and not really out of this world. The king bed which is standard in a hotel like this was somewhat comfy. The bathroom however was very nice with raining shower and very nice sink. The room was painted in very dark blue which kind of made it feel a little depressing. The staff was very on top of things but almost too aggressive (if thats possible) to help and could even here them fighting over who deserved the tip. The best part to us was the Ghostbar which definately lived up to its reputation. It is expensive but worth it. Was a little dissapointing that I had to pay $15 to get in the club since I was a guest there but my wife was free so at least I didnt pay $30. It was nice that there was a hotel line getting into the Ghostbar and didnt have to wait in the very long "other" line. Overall it was nice, but not great. A good experience.
