Major Bedbug Problem
By ,
My son and I stayed here, they have a major bedbug problem. When I showed all the bites the next morning on my son's back and legs we demanded our money back. The mattresses were full of bedbugs. The manager and day guy at the desk told us to go to another motel down the road. Are you serious !! The scars on his back will probably stay there forever, but we will never stay here again.

Wonderful Staff
By ,
My daughter and I stayed at the Park Plaza Lodge on a recent trip to LA. We found the room to be comfortable and the remodeled bathroom very clean and functional. The staff, especially Melissa, were always helpful and very friendly. Melissa went out of her way to help us with information about the best areas to live in LA. The Park Plaza is also within walking distance of the Farmers Market and The Grove shopping mall. I plan on staying at the Park Plaza Lodge whenever i am in LA to visit my daughter.

Terrible!
By ,
Terrible! Shower did not have reliable hot water. TV remote didn't work; the batteries were held in using scotch tape. We checked out three hours after check-in and management was uncooperative as to refund. They seemed to not believe us about hot water or told us we should have gotten other room. Avoid this place like the plague.

I've never felt more taken care of
By ,
I spend eight months a year in hotels for work and have done so for a decade. It gets old fast and can't wait to get to my own bed but when I'm in L.A. I actually like being at this hotel. Nice rooms, great restaurant, fast Internet, good location and the best staff I've met. Every person behind the desk is always willing to help and give advice about the best way to get to different places in the area. In over a thousand hotels I've stayed in, this is the only place that knows my name or what I like. Isn't that strange?

My Home Away From Home
By ,
Whenever I'm in Los Angeles this is where I stay. It's perfect because its close to music, art, shopping, the airport and anything else you would want to see or do while there. Great staff run and maintain this hotel which is why I have returned there over the past 11 years. The staff and housekeeping are friendly, attentive and helpful. They always make my stay pleasant and secure. They bend over backwards for their guests as I have witnessed over the many years I have stayed there. I encourage all my friends and clients to visit this place when they off to the city of Angels...they are sure to find some at this address, especially the manager, she is the best! The beds are awesome, the rooms have great charm and character. For a quick bite, head over to Fiddler's Bistro.....yum! Enjoy your days and nights in LA and relax a little in the place I call my home away from home. If you're a frequent visitor to LA, put them on speed dial. You'll love it!

Reservations not reliable
By ,
I am in Los Angeles for several months with of my daughter who is being treated for breast cancer. My husband back in Sacramento came to visit last weekend. Since the her apartment is small I decided to rent a room for him at the hotel about three blocks away. I called early in the week and made the reservation for Saturday night. Wednesday morning about 1:30 there was an earthquake northeast of LA. We learned about it on the morning news the next day. Thursday afternoon the hotel called the number I had given them (my cell phone, with a Sacramento area code) and told me that, since the hotel had sustained damage to several rooms, they would not be able to honor my reservation for that Saturday. I told the person on the phone that I was just across the street and that the earthquake had no impact on this neighborhood, the pictures on the wall weren't even skewed. The gentleman on the phone (who seemed to have trouble understanding me) reiterated that there was damage and that they were trying to get it fixed "sorry", then hung up. The other hotels in the area were booked. I walked across the street and they were facing a very angry woman. I was given to a person who appeared to be the owner who again told me that there had been damage, guests had been frightened and had "all come into the lobby, and I have been here since 2:30 this morning", and that the last several reservations had been canceled. I insisted on seeing some damage and she took me into an occupied room and showed me a hole -- not a crack -- in the window that looked like it was made by a projectile. I explained that I still did not believe her and I was very angry and planned to take some sort of action. They called late Friday and said that they could accommodate us after all. We declined the room. We felt uncomfortable at the prospect of staying there. There are two possibilities. (1) They had a chance for a better booking and didn't particularly mind bumping us. Their ethics are somewhat flexible. They would also have been wiser to plead a plumbing emergency or something like that. (2) They were telling the truth, with damage sustained and guests frightened in a very tiny earthquake. I wouldn't want to be staying there if there was any sort of real earthquake. I should think my life would be in danger.

A Great Place to Stay!!
By ,
I have stayed there about 6 times now. It is my hotel of choice when I am in LA, which is about 3 times a year. I tend to be picky about small stuff and this place is perfect for a great rate and the staff is great, which is always a plus. I tend to be a low maintainence guest in general but the place is clean, quiet, has a great central location. You will not be disappointed.
