Oceanfront Lodge, Crescent City

This wonderful hotel is located on the Northern coast of California in the city of Crescent View. Not only was the service excellent but the hotel was very clean and the service was wonderful. Whatever issues these other reviews are referring to have apparently been corrected because our experience was an absolutely positive one. Not only was the staff both kind and courteous but the General Manager took the time to greet us personally and we were actually charged less than we had expected. My favorite part was sleeping in the plush bed and listening to the waves crashing from our second story room directly above the ocean. AMAZING EXPERIENCE!

We were on our way to Portland from SF and stopped in Crescent City. We checked on a few roadside motels and felt them very uninviting. We went to the Information Center in Crescent City and talked with a very helpful lady working there with regard to which hotel was the nicest in the city. She told me all the hotels in her city were great. But the best one with the nicest amenities should be the Oceanfront Lodge. We paid $129 for a suite room on the third floor on the south side of the building. We were told later that the same room had been sold for $249 a night during summer tourist season. Apparently we got a good deal. Standing on the balcony, I had an awsome panoramic view of the ocean and its its splashing waves crashing against the gigantic rock in the ocean. The room was spotlessly clean and furniture was modern. We loved the new flat screan TV. The morning free breakfast provided a variety of healthy foods such as three different cereals and fresh fruits. We asked for more towels and got more than we needed. The front desk clerk was very helpful and eager to please us. We will highly recommend this hotel to our friends.

This property is owner operated now. The "so called " general manager can't even make a simple decision regarding its guests. All you Hilton Honors people who used to stay here to get rewards are out of luck.This property sold my reservation for a higher rate on 4th of july weekend. there was no rooms to be found anywhere in town and since the owner was not in town the front desk agent had to call the "so called" GM who had to call the owner to get some kind of resolution. this took forever. After driving all day to get here , the whole experience was sickening. We ended up having to stay in an out of order room WITH no toilet to avoid being relocated 30 miles away. KNOW THATS HOSPITALITY!!! I m currently disputing charges with VISA after being charged 2 nights after being told my stay would be comped. This property's employees will lie to your face because the owner does not empower them to resolve issues. This is by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had.....and its not resolved yet.I fear it will take litigation to finally end this horrible visit.

I have STOPPED staying at this motel because the owner whom lives in London, has increased the nightly charge from 69.00 to 214.00 during the low season. The comp breakfast is NOT even close to what other Hampton Inns provide. This the nicest place in town but face it Crescent City is slim pickins. Use to enjoy watching the storms come in over the Pacific but the tarriff is far too great at this motel.

Although this is oceanfront, I have paid less for a better room in Hawaii, Mexico, Belize, Provo, etc. This is the most overpriced motel in a remote local in the middle of the week, off season I have ever stayed in. And I'm here on business and expensing it. Travel on instead to Brookings Harbor and stay at the Best Western. You even have resturant options within walking distance with an ocean view.

Place looks nice but don't let the looks fool you. Service was terrible. Esspecially for the price they charge. The front desk people were very rude. We had two kids and requested extra towels but they took so long to bring them I had to go get them myself. Don't expect to have fun at this place. Will never go back.

Incredible location overlooking the Pacific. Friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms, but the main thing is the wonderful view of the ocean from just about everywhere in the hotel... Stay here!

Unbeatable location, friendly staff and well appointed rooms make the Hampton Inn one of the best places (if not the best) to stay in Cresent City. Walkways surround the hotel for your evening or morning walks. The ocean at your back door, and a view of Cresent City's lighthouse from your room window. We'll never forget it!

This hotel was a lovely reprieve from the chilly December air. All of the rooms have breathtaking views and the sound of the waves crashing lull one to a deep, peaceful sleep. The lobby staff is helpful and polite. The lobby itself was smartly decorated for the holiday season. The full, hot breakfast was a welcome surprise in the morning. I would definitely stay here again!!

We decided to head to the coast for a night. Checking on the internet at home I found the Hampton Inn with a price of $89-$99 a night. We drove there and they quoted me $189.95!! I quoted the internet price and she said they don't have a room for under $149.95. Only two rooms were available at that moment. We checked around and came back. There aren't very many nice places to stay in Crescent City. It was well worth the money. So clean, beautiful view of the ocean. We had a whirlpool tub, refer, microwave, and breakfast in the morning. An expansive great room with large windows, leather seating, tables and chairs to sit in to read and just enjoy the view of the Pacific. We plan to go again!
