Greenwood Suites gets a thumbs up
I stayed at the Greenwood Suites in Dec 2009. It was an excellent experience there. The desk staff was helpful- no hassles and no surprises. The hotel is in excellent condition. It's not a motel with entry doors on the outside. This is a hotel, with indoor hallways. Carpeting is clean and new, and the room was definitely satisfactory. The room contains a kitchenette, with a full-sized refrigerator, a microwave, coffee-maker, stove with burners, pots and pans, place settings, plates and cups, dishwasher- everything you need for an short stay or an extended one. Internet is included, but it is not wireless, so bring a travel-sized Ethernet cable. They even provide a complimentary package of popcorn.
The room also includes a DVD player, but I didn’t have enough dead-time to borrow any DVDs, although I hear there is a lending library at the front desk.
Rooms were very reasonably priced. They came to about $50 per night. The actual distance from the hotel to the front gate of Disneyland is a bit over half a mile. The Anaheim Transit shuttle stop is right outside (Shuttle #7), sharing a stop with the Peacock Suites. A lot of the drivers are not familiar with “Greenwood Suites”, so ask to be dropped off at the Peacock. Buy a transit pass at the front desk for $4. It gives you unlimited rides on the shuttles, including the other ones that go to various shopping centers.
On the last day, I had a few hours to kill before my flight. So, the front desk was happy to store my luggage there after my official checkout, so I could go shopping and have lunch. They even have complimentary Internet in the front lobby for you to use while you wait.
Eveything worked out great. I would stay there again.
