Absolutely aweful experience

The hotel could have been great. We were just looking for a room near the Norfolk airport that would provide shuttle service to the airport for an early flight.
First, after having been told that it would be no problem to get a shuttle to the airport when I made reservations - as we checked in-- we were told that they would not be able to provide shuttle service for those guests catching the first flights out in the morning. Any flight after 8am could be accommodated- (with the current security rules for being at the airport before the flight) When we asked for help to arrange for transportation - we were handed a business card and told that we were on our own.
Then, as we prepare for the night - we discover that the comforter has several bloody and sticky spots on the upper edge. We threw the comforter off and checked the rest of the sheets - which appeared clean. Later we discovered a pair of exercise shorts/swim trunks hanging in the closet to dry (NOT OURS!) Apparently they don't clean the rooms!
Additionally, we used their phone wake-up system to set a wake-up call for 4:15am and the call rang at 3:40am. I could have really used that additional sleep before my travel.
The staff was not available for us to check out - we had to yell for about 10 minutes to get someone to the desk. They did not care when we told them about our experiences and they caused us to be later than we wanted to be getting to the airport. The taxi driver told us that others had the same complaints of no early shuttles and lack of cleanliness.
The bathroom tub surround was made of quality materials - but the "clear" caulking job around the granite pieces was horrible. Lots of large drips left on the walls with caulk applied directly over mold with additional mold surrounding the caulk.
