Located three miles south of the Las Vegas Strip, this professionally managed resort offers tasteful amenities to discriminating travelers, presented in contemporary Mayan design. The Cancun Resort is perfectly situated near the threshold of the heart-pounding, non-stop excitement and glamour of the renowned Las Vegas Strip. Daily shuttles provide easy access. And, when you prefer the excitement without the noise, you can relax with a cool beverage under a shady palapa in one of Cancun Resorts many poolside hammocks. Other amenities include enormous water slides and waterfall, two pools, whirlpool spas, restaurant, lounge, and day spa. Golf and tennis are also conveniently located nearby. Las Vegas is the entertainment capital of the world and extremely famous for its casinos, entertainment, and glamorous image. It is one of the most major tourist, shopping, and vacation destinations in the entire world. The city and surrounding areas offer many attractions for visitors to enjoy. This property does not charge Resort Fees or additional charges for extra guests up to the maximum room occupancy.
It was too far away from any excitement or casinos. I would definitely never stay there again! The room was dusty, the toilet got cloggged, the furniture was uncomfortable in the suite. The only cool thing was the jacuzzi tub for two (but I have that at home). We asked for an extra pillow and was told "we've run out" and hung up on. This was for a time share presentation and if they were trying to impress us to buy, they failed miserably!
The grounds were beautiful and the front-desk staff was very friendly. The location was great if you did not wish to head to the Strip. There are restaurants, grocery stores and shopping within a driveable distance. There were plenty of family-friendly activities and the other guests were having a good time.
However, the room given (a 1BR) was disgusting. There was mold, mildew and ants throughout. It must've been one of the first rooms ever built, because it looked like it hadn't been cleaned since the first phase went up. I later toured the different types of rooms, including the penthouse, and was unimpressed.
The carpet was stained and not laid down very well - you could see the sections sticking up where the pieces were joined to one another. The furnishings looked cheap and dated. The kitchen was not very large. There was only one washer and dryer and if you did not have quarters on you, you would need to find somewhere to get change.
For those of you who are not time share owners and are simply looking for inexpensive digs as your home-away-from-home in Vegas, you may want to drive about 5 minutes further up South Strip and check out the GrandView.
Dont get me wrong, I thought the Resort was clean and beautiful from the inside but I was really dissapointed when I got the the pool area. When I reserved the room on line I feel in love with the wonderful pictures of the water and once I got there it was not what I expected. The pool was extremely dirty and it kind of ruined my weekend since it was my one year wedding anniversary. I really wanted to suim but I didnt want to get sick with that dirty water. I would have to say I would stay there again but I hope they clean the pool this time.
I liked that we got three nights and four days for $99 and just had to attend a time share sales pitch. I also liked the bed... very comfortable. But, because they give so many of these cheap trips away, the clientel is very low class; loud, dirty, tons of unattended children, and very rude. I did not like the location; 2 miles from the strip - easily a $13 cab ride, and their "shuttle service" is a joke. Our "jacuzzi tub" jets did not work, and the water was nowhere near hot. Our towels were thin and some even ripped when used. There is one place to eat, and you'll pay $14 for a side of fries and hamburger. Use the kitchen in your room to save money. Free is good, but cheap is not. This place is cheap.
Con: NO Airport Shuttle!
Pros: Everything Else
The service, the rooms, the pool, the amenities, the look (beautiful), the price, all wonderful. Just add an Airport Shuttle and this place is nothing less than perfect.
Stayed in May of 2006 for four days.
Cancun resort is a top notch resort.Absolutly wonderful pools that also has 4 waterslides..my kids love it. The condo's are very clean and the bathrooms all have whirlpool tubs.Full kitchens so you can cook.My family recently had a Reunion there and the resort was very helpfull in all our needs.Yes it is a little ways from the major casino's,but they do have shuttle service to certain hotels, so you don't have to drive, very nice.
