sad when there are rooms open during Bonnaroo
By Renate B, 6/11/10
This hotel served its purpose and thats it. My husband and I had searched and searched for a hotel during the 2nd week of June when Bonnaroo and CMA music fest and awards were going on. This was the only hotel in the area that was available. Due to the rate being $70.00 cheaper a night than what we could have stayed in a double bed room at a hotel further away we jumped on it. We arrived at the hotel and the outside appearance was rather nice, lobby was nice, and the room was MUCH larger than what we expected. Then we turned down the bed. I am not the most picky person in the world, however I do like for there to be clean sheets on the bed. There were large stains on the sheets on both ends of the bed. I sent my husband down to see about getting the bed changed and the clerk at the front responded that the room had been cleaned earlier. Well I am sure it had, but the sheets were dirty. When my husband asked for the sheets to be changed he said the lady was out and no one would change the sheets. My husband and I put clean sheets on the bed ourselves. I can see why the hotel was not booked and they had occupancy. Its rather sad when the free loving and free spirited people attending Bonnaroo choose to camp out on the grass and in the dirt over staying here. There are much much much better hotels in the area and I wish we would have paid the extra money to have stayed at the earlier mentioned hotel.

Nice place to stay
By Dennis D, 8/17/08
We were looking for an affordable place to sleep, this was it . No frills just a bed to sleep in. No problems from staff. We stayed there 3 nights and had to ask for more towels once. If you not looking for a 4 star at 2 star prices this place is good. The breakfast was lacking but still you get what you pay for. If we wanted to eat a full breakfast we would go to a Cracker Barrel and eat.

Unfriendly office staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/1/08
I will have to say that the night shift office worker was more friendly than the day workers. The lady working the day shift looked like she had a chip on her shoulders and didn't want to be bothered. Perhaps she was just having a bad day. We asked the guy a question and instead of saying, "I don't know, but will find out for you," he just didn't know and that was that. The continental breakfast ended at 9:00 and, in my opinion should have been 10:00. When on vacation most folks like to sleep a little later. The motel was very clean, appeared as if it had just been remodeled. It was quiet, couldn't hear the hall noise, nor the noise in the next rooms, which is a great plus. The beds were not the most comfortable; but manageable. I would stay there again.

No awards here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/20/08
We chose this hotel because the travel book we were looking through said this hotel was BRAND NEW and because it won some sort of hotel award. When I went to check in the man at the counter was not friendly at all. I should have realized right then to leave. I got my room key, moved my vehicle, and carried my bags to the room. When I got into the room I noticed there were marks all over the walls, the wallpaper was peeling in the bathroom, and the drywall by the shower was falling off. We immediately went down and asked to switch room. The man told us that we only have 5 minutes after we check in to come and request a room change. And he must have been timing it because he told us exactly how long it had been since he ran my credit card through. It was like 11 minutes or something. He told us we should have examined the room before we paid for it!! So he would't refund our money or even switch rooms. And the hotel wasn't busy, there were hardly any people there and it wouldn't have been a problem for him to switch rooms for us. I would not recommend this hotel at all. There are plenty of others right next door to choose from. We stayed at a Quality Inn the night before for way less money and the service and rooms were A LOT nicer.

Dishonest, rude management
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/10/08
I too had issues with managment. I stayed here several times a few years ago and it was fine. The hotel was fairly new and apparently the owner/manager was out of the country which I found out when I had an issue with a toilet that was constantly backing up and the staff did not hesitate to move me to another room. Even helped me move my bags. I was so pleased that I had booked over 7 different 5 day stays over the next 4 months at a slightly discounted rate they offered me which was about 15% less than their typical rate. When I went to check in for my next stay, I was told the rate would not be honored now or ever; that I had to pay their current rate which was $50 more than what i had reserved it at. I tried to reason with what turned out to be the owner stating I had my confirmation numbers and then that this was unethical, etc. to no avail. He was rude and even went so far as to ignore me when another customer approached. I told him to cancel my reservations but he said he'd have to charge me for that night since it was after 6pm. (I had to contest this with my credit card company to get the credit as he told me there "was nothing he could do" - that he had already charged it.) I was absolutely amazed at the audacity. I ended up going to the Fairfield that night across the street and have stayed there and the Wingate for my monthly trips. Hugely better experience. Do not stay in this hotel unless you have LOW standards of customer service and pray you do not have any issues requiring management's resolution. Also, on the last stay there before my incident, I sat in the lobby waiting for a ride and heard the same man arguing with a woman who ended up in tears because she had reserved a couple of rooms online and the same owner/manager said the rates were wrong and he was going to have to charge her more. She was with about 10 girls visiting a conference at the local college. Pretty sad. I think she ended up paying it becasue all other hotels were sold out. DO NOT STAY HERE.
