Beautiful and relaxing!!!!!!
By ,
What a great place! Quiet, relaxing and only 30 minute from the strip if you want to see a dinner/show or gamble. We stayed in a Viera 1 bedroom lake view condo. The view of the lake was amazing!! It was a full condo with a full kitchen with granite counters and a large bathroom and separate bedroom. There is even a small dining room. The patio was huge and even had a chaise lounge! The restaurants are all great and it's nice to simply walk to them. I heard that the outdoor concerts will begin in April and I read there is a bunch of activites in the village including a beer fest, Shakespeare's Taming of the Shew play and other events in the village. Unfortunately, the casino is closing, but we don't gamble. I imagine a new owner will take it over. It's a nice quaint casino. The service was good at the Viera Montelago Condos. These are individually owned by people and Viera manages, rents and maintains them. So, they feel comfortable like a condo, yet the amenities of a hotel. We look forward to going back soon.

The term \"resort\" is used loosely
By ,
When I first pulled up to the "resort" after a 12 hour work day, I thought, wow, this is a nice place to get away from it all. It looks inviting and comfortable. However, looks are very deceiving. The bed was so uncomfortable that I ended up sleeping on the sofa. The next morning I asked the front desk if they could please have housekeeping place a pad of some sort on the mattress. I was told that would not be a problem and off to work I went. When I returned at 1:00 a.m. after a very draining day of review reports and meeting with various clients, I found a blanket placed on top of my bed. I went back to the front desk and asked about the padding for the mattress and was told that if I wanted something different I should have made special arrangements before I came. I had never stayed at this hotel before and did not know that I would be sleeping on a sofa for the second night in a row. It was at this time that I was informed that I was free to check out anytime. The option to change rooms in hopes to have a better bed was shot down too with the explanation that all the rooms have the same bed. My advice to anyone staying here or looking to stay here is to keep looking as I am sure the other hotels at Lake Las Vegas would be much more accommodating.

Exquisite Resort! 5-star!
By ,
Visited Last: October 2006 Very impressed!! Montelago Village has it all for singles, couples, families, or business ventures. It's all here! It's luxurious, trendy, scenic, and nightlife complete. This tucked away villeage resort is just 12 miles east of the Las Vegas strip in Henderson, NV proper. Entrance to the lake is breath-taking with an "Arnold Palmer golf course" winding drive spilling out water falls and lush greenery leading to a semi-private quaint village, surrounded by fabulous condos, and the casino. The village itself, is cobble stone steps from the main resort check-in area and comes complete with shops, smooth jazz concerts on floating water platform for summer evenings, plus art fairs, boat tours of Lake Las Vegas, great restaurants, several pools, fabulous self-contained rooms (you can bring your own food if you like or have little ones), and last, but not least, even fishing! Montelago Casino is within walking distance to both the village and the condo-type room rentals. Enough cannot be said about this little hide-a-way in the desert. Unplug from the stress of everyday life, have an exquisite, unforgetable experience right here at Montelago Village Resort. No need to even visit the "strip." You will not be dissappointed!

Very disappointing resort
By ,
We had reserved a one-bedroom suite to accomodate my family of four. We ended up arguing back and forth with the front desk about the crib we had reserved. First being told we never reserved one (which I had the name of the man I had spoken to and when it was reserved) and then being told a crib is not a guarantee, only a request. Anyone who has a young family knows that an eight-month-old needs a crib or pack-n-play to sleep in, there really is not another option. Besides the crib disaster, the kitchen was not stocked at all. There were no paper towels, no bowls, no simple accessories such as salt, etc. Not even a garbage can. There was no dish soap or dishwashing soap to go with the useless dishwasher. I could go on and on. Considering the price of this hotel, we were expecting a nice place. Granted it was clean, but that's about the only nice thing we can say about our recent stay.

A TOTAL DISASTER
We had booked two rooms one with two beds at about US$ 120 a night. I called them and confirmed the arrangement before we leave. I expected a nice hotel. Got there to find one bed in each bedroom. They upgraded us to another room at US$ 60 extra per night and that one too had one bedroom. For the third time we moved luggage to a two bedroom and they planned toc harge US$ 120 extra per night. I objected and there was no manager on duty. Finally it was US$ 60 that I had to pay per night. Both rooms had no hot water or heat. They were unable to fix it and did not offer ANY assistance. We shivered all night and my whole family caught a NASTY cold. Muscular pain, cough, fever and sore throat. ALL OF US. They promised to fix the prblem three days in a row and offered subsequently to change our room and the security guard who took me there called the FronT desk to inform them: NO HOT WATER, NO HEAT. Back to our cold room we went. Then we got a letter explaining that the power outage of a week ago had damaged the pumps. I wonder: why is the damn pump not fixed in so many days? Why are you selling the rooms? Close the resort until it is fixed! During these disastrous days, twice the maintenance people came into our room DESPITE a Do Not Disturb sign. I objected to Front desk saying our intimate oments were rudely interuupted. He just laughed! The carpet corners and edges of the room have several months of dust gathering. There was no paper in any of the rooms to make notes. The bedroom phone did not work: so we had to get out of bed walk to the living room to answer the calls. Three times I called Housekeeping for various matters only to get a recording. I left messages and they NEVER came or called. This is a totally dysfunctional resort. To their credit their GM did call me back when he got my three pages of explanatory notes. I missed his call unfortunately. I am really interested to hear what he has to say. I encourage everyone to give this resort ample time to recover fro their disaster before booking it.

Relaxing!!!
By ,
It's pretty surreal just how close Lake Las Vegas Resort is to The Strip...The views of The Strip when approaching the resort as well as leaving to head towards LV are fantastic! MonteLago Village Resort has a relaxing, surreal feel to it. It's very quiet during the day and has a mellow vibe at night. We stayed at the new Luna di Lusso building across the lake from the main part of the resort, a short walk across the Pontevecchio Bridge. Rooms are actually studio condo units, fully furnished and includes nice kitchen w/ stainless steel appliances. Very spacious and very nice, well-appointed bathroom, and lots of closet space. Tall ceilings give it a very modern, loft-like feel. Shops are nice, along with several fine restaurants, an Irish Pub, a Starbucks, and the Casino MonteLago (which also has 2 bars). Definitely not what one may think of as "Vegas", but a great time nonetheless... The scenery and views out there are great, and it's nice to have the Ritz and Hyatt resorts nearby as well. Best part of the trip was the sunset gondola cruise on Lake Las Vegas - what views! In summary, it's a nice place to spend a couple of days, but probably not much more.

My Stay

Had a Great Time, everyone was great...The front desk stall was awsome. pool 24/7. I lost my wallet and the Guy from the front desk walk all over with me and eventually found it. If only it wasn't so hot out-side, guess they can't controll that though.

Great Vegas Experience
By ,
My wife and I have always stayed on the strip, so we were a bit apprehensive about selecting a site a little far away. And while it is about 19 miles from the actual resort to the strip, we found it to be an easy commute, and well worth it. I highly recommend paying extra for a room with a view of the lake--it was just incredible. Beautiful view, very nice room, and quiet (don't go if you want all of the excitement of Vegas), but this is a welcome retreat from all of the hustle and bustle of the popular Vegas hotels. And it is not so far away that you can't be at those busy locations within a half hour if you so desire. The golf courses are pricey, but well worth the price. The Falls back nine is something that you won't want to miss. The casino is very nice and accomodating. Great trip---will definitely go back.

My Stay

This place is away from the noise of the Strip. There is a nice area with shops and reataurants in the Village, not cheap but good. If you are from the Houston area think old town Spring for the shops but very nice accomodations.
