Harborview Inn and Suites Downtown San Diego, San Diego

This place is the worst, especially with the owners running around In Pajama, very rude, and no manner how to talk to a guest. I was there in March and made my reservation over the Internet, I arrived there and the clerk seemed like he just woke up as he was in his pajama and had a didn't care look. As we went up to our room you can here people screaming and felt unsafe. The next day as we were checking out the lady she made us wait 30 minutes as she was on the phone and was rude to the guest that was trying to make a reservation, later she decided to finally approach and had the worst attitude. Not to mention I was a manager at a hotel. She than argued with me about a extra person I had in the room which was my brother and the guy from last night did see as we were checking-in. She charged me cash $15+tax and had the biggest fit and was unprofessional about the whole situation. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!

If you read any good reviews about this so called "Inn" believe me, they have to have been written by the owners. No one who has ever stayed or attempted to stay (backed out in time after seeing the rooms)would be able to write anything nice about this place. They seem to have cheated just about all who write in, including my family. $200 a night for a not worth $1 a night hotel It is filthy and simply disgusting. Food left from previous guests. Mold everywhere. Stink. Bugs. It's truley horrible.

Me and my family came to San Diego for a vacation with my kids. I wanted to take them to the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Sea World. This motel is in the center of San Diego Downtown. Considering the rewievs on this page, my wife didnt think it was a good place to stay. But i decided to cheak out the rooms for a good price and i really liked the room and the location of the hotel itself. We all ended up having a great time here in San Diego and would most definaitly stay here again.

I have been staying at this hotel over a period of several years and is my hotel of choice when I come to San Diego. It is very conveniently located to downtown and Little Italy. The rooms are big with the amenities I need, and a very helpful staff.

Near and convenient to most everything ... not fancy ... old world style charm .. my dog and I love it and this is our third stay ... check it out

Based on the earlier reviews I was mentally prepared not to expect too much from this place. As mentioned by other reviewers, this place was not clean. But if you do not plan to stay too long in the room, it is an OK deal. The room did not really stink too much, though the bathroom did stink. Moreover, my bathroom was adjacent to the other room's bathroom...so I could easily hear them! The sheets and towels seemed to be clean. The staff was however somewhatg disorganized and they seemed to have 'Cancelled' my reservation.. when it actually was not. Since they did not have any other rooms availble, they offered me a 'Suite'. So instead of taking responsibility for this goofup, they charged me extra money for the suite!!. Apparently, the suite has a microwave and a fridge and so they charged me $10 extra everyday for this 'facility'. the microwave was unkempt and did not have the rotating tray. The fridge was really really old and dirty (the kind they would sell in a flea market). Also, there was no hair dryer in my room. Overall, I could bear with the fact that the facilities were not good. But, what really bothered me was that I was cheated and charged $60 extra for no fault of mine. Since I did not expect much from this place, I did not try their 'Continental' breakfast!! The only positive thing is that the location is great and the internet connect was great too.

It smells aweful and is run by a couple from India who do not communicate well. Rooms are small, but the mattress was nice. They charged us for 3 nights instead of the 2 we stayed and the 3rd night was charged to a different account without our authorization putting it into overdraft. They denyed charging it and were not helpful in trying to resolve it. The bank cancled the transaction for us. The rooms are over-priced, very old/grungy looking, the continental breakfast is a joke, the internet worked very slow, and customer service is the worst. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

The room was not cleaned when we came back from our day out. The continental breakfast served cake, who wants to eat cake at 6 am? No hair dryers in rooms, no pool either.

someone should really report this hotel. the people barely knew english. also the rooms had an awful smell. the " kitchen" wasnt barely a kitchen the hinges were comeing off of the cubbys. the shower was chiped. and the A/c wasnt even working right. save some money. go to a place for a bit more. youll be gald you did.

Im not picky but this hotel... is horrible... horrible smell...( think pee and roach repelant bad) horrible bathroom ( it was really small and nasty) everything smelt like pee... or roach killer... I dont think I could ever get the smell out of my head... its that bad. the elevator was highly unsafe also.
