Mercure Narita Airport, Narita-Shi

Lobby entrance clean and reasonably modern. Staff helpful and english good. Rooms small but seriously need painting and refurbishing. Bathrooms biggest dissapointment. Modular plastic cubicals, low lighting, flimsy shower head,TV old and small units.Limited english channel (BBC only).Recommend for 1 night stay only as convenient to transportation links.Much better hotels in Narita area.

I had to step out of China to get my visa re-stamped at re-entry and my employer sent me to Narita. The Mercure Hotel was close and quick, so we set up there. The internet was extra charge and was too weak to use. The bath was almost like an aircraft restroom, modular. Front desk spoke English, which was of benefit. Room was very small, & could have been cleaner. Not a 3 Star, even in Asia.

This hotel is in best location, perfect !!! Close to everything - JR Station, Kesei Station, Temples, Festivals (July 4, 5, 6) really nice festival and presentation, Old Town Japan, markets, convenient stores, Mc Donalds, Mister Donuts, am pm store. The best location when you want to see the next town. The hotel itself needs a renovation, especially their annex, carpets are dirty everywhere. The main building has air condition in hallways and no smells, but when you get to the hallways of the annex, it has a very bad smell or odor, dirty carpet and even in the rooms, dirty carpet, not representable, they should atleat do something about it. The front lobby is very nice and it will really invite you in, but once you get to the hallways and annex , really big difference - dirty. The rooms that has 3 beds in it, it's actually 2 beds and they squeezed in a 3rd bed which is a folding bed and no space between the beds. Housekeepers are very nice and helpful. Front Desk staff should smile more. Free shuttle to drop you off or pick you up from the airport terminal 1 and 2. (Tip: use the shuttle to go back to the airport to exchange currency, airport has better exchange than the hotel and you can go shopping also at the airport, they have a lot of stores at the airport in both terminals. It's the best location of all !!! People in Japan are very restpectful and helpful !
