Avoid if Possible
It's really very old & run down, not like the pictures. They advertise breakfast & there's a sign/table in the lobby, but there was never any breakfast..no coffee, juice, toast, nothing!! The second morning the lobby was locked & no one answered. The table inside was empty... In fact, the lobby was locked most of the time, so you could never ask questions. No service at all. The staff speaks very broken English & are extremely difficult to understand (when they don't lock you out). As for room condition: The shower dripped constantly & mildew was on every square inch of the shower surround. Eww!! Dirty bathroom floor. The wall was crumbling & peeling in big chunks by the sink and again mildew on the exposed sheetrock. Furniture was super old & the tabletop formica was peeling off. The foam was exposed on the chairs. The linens did seem clean, but again were very old, torn, & thin. The floor was gross. We wore shoes at all times. There was no HBO, as advertised, and no alarm clock. We absolutely would have turned around and walked out, but we were there for a baseball tournament & all other motels were full. The only good thing about this motel was that we didn't have to sleep in the car!! Unless they have a major remodel in the very near future, avoid the Cavalier if at all possible!!!
