NEVER AGAIN
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/28/09
I would never want my worst enemy to even stay at this DUMP. We were there for 7 days and the pool was closed for 3 of those. Had 7 people with us and they only gave us 2 towels and 2 wash rags. Only came to clean 2 times out of 7 days.Went to the VERY UNFRIENDLY lady up front to tell her about the dirty room and she gave me the vaccum cleaner. The air stayed on 60 degrees for 7 straight days and we had to go get 2 fans just to survived. I STRONGLEY SUGGEST PEOPLE TO STAY ANY WHERE ELSE YOUR CAR WOULD BE BETTER THAN THIS DUMP.

Won't Ever Stay Here Again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/27/09
My family and I stayed here for a week and the place was the worst I have ever seen. The carpet had not been vaccumed and the bathroom floors were filthy all week long.We never had any wash cloths or towels they were always in the washer or dryer. The pool stayes closed 5 out of 7 days that we were there. ( WE HAD 3 KIDS TO EXPLAIN THAT TO.) There was a roach bug in the sink . YOU CAN BET WE WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!

We will not stay here anymore!!!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/27/09
What we disliked!!!!! We paided over 800 dollars for a week. We arrived on a Friday , Saturday afternoon had to go buy bathroom towels and wash rags.We had to make up our own beds Friday till Monday.Monday I went to Office and asked when were we going to get room service. She sent someone to room but we already made beds up.They change bed liens every 3rd day, they changed ours 1 time in 7 days. 7 days the spa was not working, 2 1/2 days out of 7 the pool was not open. When we left I went to Office to turn in keys and told them about how much we were disappointed in the serviced that we got and complained about the pool, and told her that we will not come back and will tell others about our experince with them. She said that was my opinion. What has happened to customer service? What we liked ! We wanted to find a motel that we could bring a small dog to. The rooms were quiet you did not hear the other dogs that was there. That was good.

Worst vacation ever!!!
By PrissyC, 06/26/09
This is the biggest dump that I have ever stayed in. The hot tub doesn't work. The pool was down for two days and was hardly ever cleaned the days it was working. The rooms and balconies are nasty. Someone above us overflowed the sink and it ran down through our ceiling. I reported it but no one ever came to look or said they were sorry for any of the inconveniences. This place needs torn down!!!!!

Nasty! Nasty! Nasty!
By North Carolina, 08/29/08
Where should I start? I booked this online which I should have never done without seeing the place in person first. When we were checking in I asked the lady "don't you guys have cont breaksfast?", she said yeah there it is and pointed at a waffle maker and coffee machine, they made it seem on the phone that they had a full size breaksfast bar. Then after getting our key we went up to our room. I have never seen anything like it before, the first thing I did was look at the sheets and they had dog hair all over them. Then by the kitchen there was leftover pizza with bugs on it, the air conditioner was off the wall on the floor and I had to use the bathroom and went to sit down and there was no toliet paper anywhere in site. The room was so nasty. I told my husband that I can not sleep here and we went downstairs and told them about the room. They didn't care and told us that we couldn't get our money back. LOOK AT THE ROOM BEFORE PAYING THATS ALL I CAN SAY. The manager which was rude and nasty said that she can't give me my money back due to a dirty room, I was like you got to be kidding me. The pictures online are from about 100 years ago because it don't look like that now at all. Its truely the worst place I have ever seen. I didn't care about the money and we ended up staying somewhere else that was the same price and 10 times better. DO NOT STAY HERE!!

Notify OSHA and then close it down
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/23/08
It was the first time my family vacationed at Myrtle Beach. We drove about 10 hours and were really looking forward to checking into our room, showering and getting something to eat. Unfortunatly, that is not how our trip started. Let me start with the bathroom. There was MOLD on the shower curtain liner, the sink did not drain and the floor was dirty. There appeared to be dry toothpaste on the tile wall. In the room there was a small referigerator which was missing the temperature control dial, not to clean with a small amount of rust. There was a iron burn on the rug. When I went to turn on the air conditioning unit and figure out what we were going to do I noticed that the lamp was plugged into a receptical that had a large hole above it. The air conditioning unit had a window directly above it which had mold around it. The back of the unit was on the deck which had a lot of mold on the top, the front was hanging off due to rust. The patio tile had flakes of rust all over it. The green plastic chairs were dirty. After deciding that there was no possible way we could stay here. We left walked down the street looking for other accomodiations. Thankfully, we were able to get that night at The Grand Atlantic and the rest of the trip was spent right down the street and The Hampton Inn (These hotels do cost more than the Summer Wind but the service & accomodiations are 100% better). The family went back to the Summer Wind put our bags back into the car. I photographed all the problems with the room which notated the date. Then we went to speak with the manager. She had left for the evening. Asking to speak with the night manager we were told he was at another job. Demanding that we need to speak with someone or we were calling authorities, a call was placed and the night manager was in the lobby in literally 2 minutes. He was rude and not very helpful. Informing him of all the issues we found with the room and that we would not be staying there at all we wanted a full refund. Since the deposit was already gone to the bank we needed to see the day manager. After spending the night in a clean, beautiful room it was back to the Summer Wind. The day manager was much nicer but informed us that the internet does not state that the room would be clean. My families reaction ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!! She then asked if we would like the room cleaned? No, we just want our money back. We received the cash we paid when checking in. The deposit was put on our credit card and she was not going to refund it stating that we spent the evening there. After informing her that we did not she issued a full credit to the card. I was asked to sign a paper stating what money & credit I received. I turned over the key and we left:) I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE SUMMER WIND INN!!!!

Excellent hotel!
By .::BLT::., 06/25/07
My boyfriend and I needed a hotel for our "last minute" weekend beach trip. I went online and found this hotel. They had great rates and looked nice. When we got there, the staff was excellent and the rooms were fairly clean. I thought it was nice considering it was last minute and only $70 per/night (during Sr. week!!). I would def. stay here again!!!

DHEC SHOULD BE NOTIFIED!
By trisha, 08/03/06
I TOOK MY DAUGHTER AND 2 OF HER FRIENDS TO THE SUMMER WINDS FOR A GRADUATION TRIP IN JUNE 2006. I CHOSE THIS HOTEL BECAUSE MY PARENTS WERE IN MB EARLIER AND I HAD THEM CHECK IT OUT PRIOR TO ME RESERVING. THEY WERE SHOWN A ROOM OBVIOUSLY ONE THAT HAD BEEN REMODELED. THE ROOM WE WERE IN WAS NEXT TO THE OFFICE BY THE STAIRWELL. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! OF COURSE IT WAS GRADUATION WEEK SO I COULDN'T JUST FIND ANOTHER HOTEL WE WERE STUCK IN A NASTY, DIRTY UNIT. THE TOILET WAS UN-LEVEL AND SEALED TO THE FLOOR WITH CLEAR SILICON,AND PROPPED UP WITH A WEDGE OF WOOD! MOLD AND MILDEW THROUGH-OUT THE ROOM! THE COMFORTORS ON THE BEDS LOOKED AS THOUGH THEY HADN'T BEEN WASHED SINCE BEING PUT ON THE BED. THE LINENS AND TOWELS WERE GROSSLY STAINED, THANK GOD I BROUGHT MY OWN! WHEN WE GOT THERE THE HOT TUB WASN'T WORKING, A CHILD USED THE BATHROOM IN THE POOL SO THE POOL CLOSED. WHEN WALKING DOWN TO THE BEACH WE SAW OPENED CONDEMS ON THE GROUND NEXT TO THE POOL GATE, DON'T KNOW IF THEY WERE USED , DIDN'T WANT TO GET THAT CLOSE. AFTER THE FIRST NIGHT THERE I WAS COUNTING DOWN THE TIME TO GO HOME! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE. IF YOU ARE GOING TO STAY AT THIS PLACE I WOULD RECOMMEND DRIVING THERE, ASK TO SEE A ROOM ,AND IF YOU LIKE IT , THEN RESERVE THAT PARTICULAR ROOM, THIS WAY YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO BE STAYING IN. OTHERWISE , I'D STAY AT ANOTHER HOTEL FAR AWAY FROM THIS ONE!

The Worse Hotel Ever!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/02/06
I went to Myrtle Beach on Jul 23, 2006. I had reserved a room after with this hotel after reading the reviews. When we got there the kitchen was leaking some of the ceiling had done fell down. The room was very nasty, they was mold around the bathtub, the wall behind the garbage can had food all over it.They was quite a few other people that left that night because of their nasty rooms. We left that same night and went right behind this hotel to Oceans Park and got a room. The rooms there are very nice and clean.
