'Flying solo' at the Parker House
By Kristie Jo, 7/6/11
I went on a 2-day solo getaway to Vermont and decided to stay in Quechee at the last minute. After a bit of on-line searching I settled on the Parker House Inn B&B. I felt welcome from the moment I walked in until the moment I left. Although the floors were not very clean everything else was, even the glassware! I enjoyed all the people I met as well as the warm and inviting staff. I ate only an appetizer the 1st night and a full dinner the second. ALL the food, including the breakfast was marvelous! I will definitely return someday! I had a great time!

LOVE the food...and the view.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/4/09
The food there is French-inspired food using local ingredients, when possible. The head chef, Alex, has a garden from which she pulls many of the herbs that flavor the food...at least in the growing season. The service is friendly and competent. The prices are comparable to similar in the area...both for the rooms and for the food. The breakfast that comes with the room is also very nice. When it comes to the view, it is incomparable (particularly in foliage season). They have a lovely deck where you can eat or hang out, just off the bar, and overlook the local river. Especially in the fall, it can be brisk out there, so bring a coat.

another great weekend the parker house
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/17/08
After such a great stay last time, my partner and I headed back for another wintry weekend with Adam and Alex at the Parker House. (Our last visit was last winter). That's the key difference here - we always feel like we're staying with friends. We enjoyed a top-floor room with a beautiful view of the town, a very comfortable bed and private bath. As before, the lack of TV and availability of wireless strikes the perfect balance and helps us relax without feeling too disconnected. We met several new friends for cocktails at the bar before dinner, including fun newlyweds from Chicago, neighbors we didn't know from Boston and a bunch of locals. It's just such a relaxed, hip atmosphere. After a short nap, we went back down for a perfect dinner (one lamb, one beef - both great meals) and wine at the bar. The fun people came back and before we knew it, it was 1am. One late breakfast and a relaxed morning of coffee, the New York Times and homemade pancakes, we were ready to check out and head home via an afternoon in Hanover visiting Dartmouth College. We both travel a bunch and it's rare to find a place that is as comfortable and familiar, but with really good rooms and food. The place is hip and fun and quiet all at the same time, a total reflection of the owners who are totally invested in make sure their guests are well taken care of.

"Right at Home"
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/9/05
I am Chilean and recently went on vacation in Vermont. I spent two weeks traveling and exploring the area. During this time, I stayed at a number of bed and breakfasts, but I have to say, my favorite was definitely The Parker House Inn in Quechee. Apart from it being situated in a gorgeous setting, the inn itself was just beautiful!! The unique collections of antiques, the beautiful light and views, and a very lovely and interesting young couple as hosts made for an especially warm atmosphere. I felt right at home. And my room was just right!! The bed was so comfortable and very beautifully dressed, and the bathroom was just updated and modernized, though in a very tasteful way. It would be nice to have a place like the Parker House Inn in Chile!!

" A Memorable Weekend"
By Thomas P, 6/9/05
My husband and I just got married at the beginning of June. We are a young couple just starting out and trying to get on our feet and were not able to have a wedding celebration as we would have liked. However, we had heard wonderful things about Queechee and decided to go for it and spend a weekend there. We randomly chose the Parker House Inn, not quite sure what to expect. Upon arrival, we immediately felt very welcomed and comfortable. We found the decor extremely inviting and tasteful. It is filled with a beautiful mix of antiques and original art, and has a real French country feel to it. The rooms have reently been renovated with new Pottery Barn bed linens, hard-wood floors and up-to-date bathrooms. And the views of the Queechee River are spectacular!! We did not want to leave!! Especially with such delicious food just a staircase away! Our first night there (and second night!!), we ate in the restaurant, and to our surprise, we were given a complimentary bottle of champagne and a bouquet of local wildflowers in celebration of our marriage. A very thoughtful and warm gesture. The hosts and the ambiance of the Parker House Inn really made for a memorable weekend and we already are booked for another weekend in July!!

Please don't waste your money.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/1/05
We went away to beautiful Vermont for the Mother's Day weekend and made the terrible mistake of booking the Parker House Inn. The room was barren and not well decorated. The windows were painted shut, which was too bad as the paint smell was so repulsive that it was imposible to stay the whole night. Also, the noise from the dining room below was Very loud until after 10 PM. We did not eat there so I don't know how the food was but it would have to be pretty amazing to make up for the dismal room.
