Beware!

I booked this hotel with Hotels.com. I work as an independent contractor, responsible for all my own expenses, inspecting FEMA claims for victims. I booked the hotel for two weeks, and they charged all two weeks to my CC before I even arrived. I had been transferred to the Lauderdale area from the Louisiana area. I had only been at the hotel for 4 days and got a call that I was needed in Mobile, AL. I had no choice but to go. BUT beware of the hotel. THEY DON'T DO ANY REFUNDS. So I lost over $700 because I had to transfer and they didn't have ANY compassion, and won't for anyone. I spoke with the manger asst. who didn't speak very good English and only kept repeating, NO REFUND. The hotel was a dump, no hair dryers or shampoo, etc. I needed to work evenings in the hotel booking appointments with victims to do inspections. The rooms don't look like the pictures AT ALL. I needed a light bulb in the desk lamp. Called several times, and no one ever came. I finally had to go out and buy a new light bulb myself, and a new lamp, because it was so dark in there. I did not know it was non-refundable until I got to the office to check in. And at that time I didn't know I wouldn't be staying all that time. I would NEVER suggest this hotel to anyone; I guess that is why I was able to book it, when all the other hotels were full...no wonder. Most DECENT hotels, compromise with you and work something out, which I would have been willing to pay them for 7 days, but they didn't refund ANYTHING. So beware! I stay in a lot of hotels, and this is the worst one I have ever stayed in.
