Never Again
By ,
After a month long trip where we stayed in a total of 14 hotels, this hotel was by far the worst. Despite staying in this hotel for only 2 night, it put a damper on our entire visit to Prague. When we first arrived, the receptionist was incredibly rude and was unwilling to accommodate any of our needs. Then the following morning, we had a terrible breakfast in the hotel and we soon discovered that the breakfast cost $40 but had a value of $0. Our bad experience in this one hotel will cause both me and my family to likely never visit Prague again. Not only was the receptionist rude, but we were also presented with even less kindness by the manager who said that she did not care if we told people to never stay in this hotel. As far as location goes, this hotel could not be any more off the beaten path than it was. I would recommend a hotel much closer into the city or one with at least some class.

Visit to Prague
By ,
We have just arrived back from a 4 night stay in Prague at the Hotel Carlton. The hotel was excellent with a spacious room and bathroom. It was extremely clean and the staff were very pleasant. The area where situated looks a little grey but it only took 20 mins to walk into the city centre and this was down hill. The tram stop is nearby and runs very frequently. You catch a number 9 and it is 5 stops to the centre. We thoroughly enjoyed Prague and would return to the same hotel. Carl and Hilary Binney Hull, East Yorks

Where's the restuarant?
By ,
Where to start!! upon arriving at the hotel at midnight after a long journey, we were welcomed (joke) by a rude and obnoxious receptionist who said our booking wasn't any good as we didn't have the relavent 'voucher', we asked him to give us the room anyway as we were very tired and would stay the night even if we had to pay for it in the morning. After a restless night we woke and went to see the receptionist, who this time was a pleasent young lady who assured us there was no problem with the booking. Our room was next to a really noisy UPS which led to 5 nights of restless sleep, added to this was the fact that the air conditioning wouldn't let us turn the temperature down any more than -3 degrees celcius which meant a constant 28 degrees in the room. The bed was very large and comfortable, however only 3 of the channels out of 45 on the TV worked. The area around the hotel is extremely run down and had a very weird smell to it, when we went outside on our first day we wondered where the hell we had ended up, but when we found the city it was like a different place all together, very beutiful. The final icing on the cake was when we asked where the restuarant was, the girl on reception just laughed and said 'just around the coner about 5 minutes away', that's right there wasn't a restuarant only a breakfast room, so that was 135 a night for a so-called 4 star bed and breakfast!! I certainly wouldn't recommend the 'hotel carlton' to anyone.

Great hotel
By ,
We have just got back from staying at the Carlton, and it was a very enjoyable stay. Excellent service, clean rooms, great breakfast and so easily accessible from the centre of the city by tram. Trams 5, 9, 26 ran straight past and the nearest stop just down the street. The area around the hotel was a little run down and needed a coat of paint! But, this didn't reflect on the hotel. Overall, we enjoyed our time at the Carlton, I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Unforgettable Prague
By ,
I went to Prague for the second time in my life last September, and this time I chose the Carlton. Although not exactly in the centre, the good public transport network puts Carlton only 5 minutes away. Good rooms, and specially helpful staff always with that information you just needed to go somewhere. Great beds, good breakfast. I would stay again at Carlton.
