Will be back every year
My friends and I were recently in Palm Springs on a Sonoran Suites golf package and had a blast. When we got to our unit we shocked to see how much space there was with an open living room, dining room, and kitchen. This provided plenty of space to play cards and cook dinner one night. Our golf coordinator set us up with some great courses. Silverrock being the one that stands out the most in our memory. This was an amazing course that followed the base of a mountain and was close to the base of it. It seemed on some holes that the peaks were directly over our heads. The wind on this particular day was simply howling. I had a putt that was down hill about 7 feet and I rolled it about 2 feet past the hole, as I was getting up to the ball to mark it the wind picked up again ( and I mean really blowing). So I stopped and waited a second and the ball actually rolled back up the hill and was now back above the hole by a foot and a half, and of course I missed the easy par putt. The layout of this course is simply beautiful with another 18 to come by 2008. Which from what the starter was telling us may be host to the 2008 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic. There were some big par fives, it didnt help that my buddies insisted on playing from the championship tees, that took not only some muscle but precision to get home in 5. The night life in Palm Desert was quite interesting plenty of neat little local/ neighborhood bars, along with some of the major chain restaurants for everyones taste. We found a great spot for some after round brews and football watching on Sunday at a bar called the Beerhunter, not to mention the food was really good too. This was a great trip for my 3 friends and myself and may just make it an annual trip.
