Poor Management Over Priced
By ,
Save your money and go some place where the staff is friendly and you wont be accused of crime for no reason. My friend stayed there about a year ago and was charged for smoking in her room - she's never smoked in her entire life. The charge was put on her credit card without her notification. My recent stay was awful and I would never recommend the hotel. My husband and I were accused of breaking things in the hallway, where they have cameras. Instead of looking at them they accused us and said we should pay for the damages. We were asleep in our room and have no idea what happened to the broke items. They are unprofessional, unapologetic, over priced, and rude.

I just do not know.....
By ,
the hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly. it was very noisey at night. Had breakfast both mornings at the hotel restaurant and had 25 minute wait for our food. sunday morning it was only a bowl of fresh fruit and a croissant i really do not think it was worth the price we paid.

Save Your Money
By ,
My wife was attending her 30 year class reunion in Iron Mountain. We decided to spend a couple extra days in the U.P. and visit her alma mater, NMU, so we decided, to spend the night in Marquette, her brother also lives there. We had our two youngest with us, 14 & 9...they wanted to stay at the Holiday Inn...had a pool. I had not visited Marquette in 35 years and thought it would be great to stay at the nostalgic and infamous "Landmark Inn". We called weeks ahead of time for a reservation and were told they were booked! The stay was for only one night and on a Sunday night at that...needless to say my wife was disappointed and I placed our name on a "wait list". Gee...they called the following day and said they had a room available...my wife was happy. Making a long story longer...we arrived Sunday afternoon only to find a wedding party taking place in the lobby...could hardly make it to the front desk...the wedding had taken over the entire hotel...no lobby, no restaurant service. Front desk could not even here our request to check in and ask questions. This went on all night...even set up dinner service in the lobby. Paid top dollar for an elevator ride to our room. We called downstairs (couldn't even get to front desk) about eating upstairs in the top floor restaurant/bar...sure we could order offer the restaurant menu or pub menu...great we said...until we went upstairs and realized they had little bar tables...we would have to hunch over to eat...and absolutely no ambiance, no table cloths, just old bare tables, place was empty...bar tender didn't even acknowledge our presence...nothing up there...place looked like an abandoned storage room...for cheap furniture...I guess the pretty view was suppose to camouflage...what a joke. We then went back downstairs...again...we could not even get close to the front desk to ask...where to go out for dinner. Did I mention hotel staff wondering around everywhere with "disengaged" looks on their faces (rude)...drunks in the elevator hitting on my 14 year old daughter. When we checked out the following morning...nobody would even look me in the eye...they did not even ask..."how was your stay". The place is old...not like The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island...just old and tired...save your money.

Great Bar as well

Really like the selection of food and drinks and is placed in a great location. Always have Bells and fine drinks in a classy atmosphere. Great amount of food for the price. We Highly Recomend this joint.

Best Hotel in Marquette
By ,
I would say that the only hotel nicer than the Landmark in the UP is the Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island. My wife and I stayed there on our wedding night and were treated like a king and queen. I would gladly pay the extra $20 a night to stay here than anywhere else in Marquette. Being downtown and close to the water is just an added bonus.

Sore back
By ,
Hardest bed I ever slept on. A slab of concrete would have provided more cushion. Other than that, the hotel is nicely decorated and has a spectacular view of the harbor. Restaurant has very good food, though pricey for Marquette. Meeting rooms on the lower level are poor.

Marquette's best place to stay
A wonderful turn of the century hotel. Great view of Marquette. Rooms wonderfully remodeled. Their chef: Mike has been there for years. Excellent menu selection. Cozy bar.

Great Accomodation/Remote Location
By ,
Sitting atop a hill in downtown Marquette, a historic, mining, forestry, and shipping industry town, it has fantastic views of the town and that great fresh water ocean, Lake Superior. A top floor cocktail lounge is a great place to unwind after a hard day of work while taking in the panoramic view of Lake Superior. Each room has its own, unique motif, and each is named after a Michigan celebrity, many of whom lived in and around Marquette. Great restaurants and fine service make this a top notch place to stay.
