filthy, seedy, rundown

We booked this for the location we required. There is nothing else to like about the hotel. At registration, the surly man (next to the wall plaque pledging politeness) demanded $100 for damage insurance. We got our room and found it already damaged with large wooden splinters falling off the table, bashed in door, and a burnt hole in the carpet. This is in addition to the sickly aroma that hits you like a ton of bricks when you open the door, and the hair in the bathroom along with the grimy carpet. We changed to a slightly less damaged room, and we were going to put up with the dead bugs in the coffee maker until we found that the heating did not work, and we had to stay in darkness due to the non-functioning lamp. We changed to yet another smelly, dirty, and damaged room, and put up with the dead bugs, filthy carpet, and partially working heater. In the middle of the night there was a loud fight in the parking lot to add to the ambience of the hotel. I would not stay there again if they paid me. It was the worst hotel experience.
