It looks like the Good Old Fun place Wildwood Resort is gone forever. It used to be amazing with a great store and fuel dock that was "even" open on Sunday. The store carried beer and wine and was fully stocked for most food products. Now it dosen't look like it will be a camp ground much longer.
Too bad, it has been there for all to enjoy for over 50 years. Lots off memories. Who needs a swimming pool at a lake side resort?
Great family campground, full of seasonal campers. Not very private sites but when you get to know everyone around you, what difference does that make! We go every weekend and have done for the past 2 seasons. Lots of changes happening in 2010 so we will see what direction the campground goes in.
Pros: Great family resort on the lake. We brough our boat and two jetski and had a great time from out site right by the water. Kids played in the playground, visited the store and at night we had one of those "real campfire's that make lasting memories"
We were there on a busy weekend and it was quite crowded, but everyone was nice including the staff. We are checking into getting a seasonal site.
Cons: The place looks a little dated and there is not a lot of staff on sundays.
Overall I would come back again to enjoy the lake and the camping experience!
We found wildwood on line and it looked great. We changed our camping dates so we could stay with them. When we got there we were put in the middle of a large field with enough room for our tent and the car on the fild. People were all around us, no privacy what so ever. The other guest were playing baseball with real hard baseballs. We had 3 balls hit our car 3 times almost hit the children. We decided to go down to the lake, but you cant get to the lake without going through someones campsite! There was no beach for the kids. At this point we went back to the fild and our tent and were almost hit with the baseball again and we decided to pack it up and go else wear! no one works at the resort on Sundays so i finaly found a man who lived on site and gave him my name and #. I called the resort 2 days latter and they would not give me my money back. I think this should not even be a campground, mabey a church re-treat wear you know everyone. not a family camp with young children!
