My husband, 4 kids and I have a wonderful time and truly look forward to that weekend all year long. The lake is perfect, the sunrise is beyond compare and the campground is carefully maintained and cleaned. My family greatly enjoys the theme weekends. We have been there for Mardi Gras, Hilly billy weekend, and most recently Pirate weekend. We will never miss this weekend again. This is not a campground, it is an experience!
Picture sitting by your fire, laughing with your friends as the sun goes down and 12 kids are playing touch football on the beach... a little piece of Americana. We rented Kayaks and were treated to double rainbows as we paddled the Lake. The loons are amazing. And though we don't really fish, I saw lots of people doing so.
As I said, we are not seasonal and don't know any of the seasonal folks, yet our kids were quickly welcomed into the games other children were playing as if we were always there. We did not feel like outsiders at all.
The view, the staff, the facilities are wonderful. Thank you to this place for the most relaxing part of our year, to the pirates for the laughs and their patience with the kids, and to Gretchen for creating this beautiful, unique experience for my family. Service is alive and well in Harrison Maine.
This campground was probably one of the most relaxing campgrounds we've been to and we've been camping for 25 years. It was extremely clean, our children and grandchildren were very pleased. The staff was very happy and cordial and the sites are very large. We have recommended this campground to all of our friends.
This campground should be called Vacationland trailer park!!! It's full of seasonal campers and they must be having a contest on who can put the most junk on their lots! The staff is friendly to the seasonals but if you're just a visitor goodluck! I would not recommend this campground to friends or family and when we asked some of the locals about it they didn't have anything good to say. The road to get out to the campground is the worst part! It isn't well maintained and is extreemly difficult to travel on if you're towing anything. The roads throughout the campgroud are in the same condition. The beach is extremely small and they put plastic children's slides and even a playground in the water for a waterslide. All and all this campground is a dump!! We will not be camping there again!!!
