Loon's Haven Family Campground, Naples

Don't go, extremely overpriced with no benefits. The campground has gone down hill, poorly kept. No one in office to check in, sites not cleaned, swimming area not roped off or swim dock installed (it sat on the beach all weekend), beach not racked or cleaned. Dogs barking all day and night and the owners not around . . . Very disappointing!! Will not go again!

I would have to say first, the only thing I did not like was the mosquitoes! They were out early this year and they feasted on me! My husband and I loved the campground. We were on a spur of the moment camping trip and stopped to see if they had any openings. The ladies in the store were wonderful, they marked the open sites and allowed us to roam around and choose our own, which has NEVER happened before. The maintenance man was in the store when we returned and he was very helpful and asked if the site we chose needed any raking as they had had a storm earlier that day and he was concerned branches may have fallen. I am so glad I did not read last year's reviews before coming to Loon's Haven, as I may have missed one of the best camping experiences we have had in a very long time. Can't wait until our next free weekend, as we plan on going back many times.

Loons Haven is a prime location for a family get away or just a weekend escape. It is finaly coming around and after years of work the complaints have been taken care of service is once again a number one priority! The new owners are very pleasant and we reallyenjoyedour stay. I was shocked to see all the bad reviews on here after our week at Loon's Haven wasnt even close to anything that I have read below this. I would suggest that you go and spend a weekend there and see for yourself. It would be well worth the investment!

I have gone to this campground for many years not because of the campground or the owners/staff, but because of the beautiful lake. The owners are rude, they hardly have staff in the office to check you in (one year waited 2 hours while the owner (who was having her nails done) in the parking lot waiting to check in at 4pm (learned my lesson there, write down site number and just set up), always lose your deposit check (even though it already cleared) and then make you pay the full bill or you can't check in!! Have gone several times and had to look for the owner/staff for several days to pay my bill, then give up and when they show up at your site usually in the middle of your dinner demanding payment immediately!! Went again last weekend and again no one to check up in, no one around for 2 days and then surprise no record of my deposit check forced us to pay bill in full, but how amazing it cleared my account they day after I left!! This was my last trip, the beauty of the lake is not worth the hassle of these owners. The owners at the Naples Campground next door are so much nice and great staff, only thing no beach just a pool. If only they could swap campgrounds!

So my girlfriend and I went to loons haven Father s Day weekend for The Maine Blues Fest. Even though I grew up in the area I had never heard of the place. So a friend told me to give it a try since I was coming to the area for the weekend and needed a place to camp. I have to say my experience was very nice from the time I arrived at the store to check in. One of the owners Mike happened to be in the store helping some of the new staff he hired this spring and he was very helpful by advising me that I could save some money by buying my tickets for the Blues Fest from the store and he also let us know what the bus schedule was going to be the next day. He was so personable and friendly. Our waterfront site was beautiful, we could hear the loons calling that very first night. It was absolutely amazing!! My girlfriend who is a nurse and a stckler for clean bathrooms said she was very happy how clean the bathrooms were. Before I wrote this review I read the comments that other customers have written and I have to say we did not experience anything like they are talking about. We would recommend this campground to ALL our friends and family and look forward to returning in the very near future.

I have been a seasonal camper at Loons haven since 1995, which is only a few years before the Mason's bought the campground. Since then my family and I have enjoyed many summers sitting by the fire, relaxing on the beach overlooking the beautiful pond and have met many great people from out of state and from Maine. The campground is very safe for all ages. It is a family establishment and does not have alot of campers who come just to party. Many call the campground home. My children have grown up here and the Masons have made them feel like one of their own. The landscape of the campground has lots of trees and has a good naturing feeling. The people who were asked to leave the campground were partying and causing disruption to families who are there to relax, enjoy themselves and feel safe. It seems like only those who were asked to leave seem to leave a review and are only trying to get revenge. If the campground was that bad, why would they still be in business after 10+ years? I would highly recommend Loons Haven to anyone who wants to take their family on a vacation without having to worry about disruptions and safety. Safety is their #1 priority over money....

I have been camping (tenting) at Loon's Haven for many years and had found it to be a pleasant experience. However all good things come to an end. I had heard stories about the elder owner harassing people, but didn't know how bad it could be until it was me. I spent the week being harassed by him; he screamed and shouted at me and my 2 teenage children no less than 5 times. I believe part of the reason was that there was no other adult on the camp site with me and he thought being a female, I was an easy target. I had to take my 2 dog’s home by mid week as it was not fair to them, they had stopped eating as they were so upset due to his tantrums. He seemed to be worse at night after he had appeared to have been drinking. I will NEVER go there again and neither should you!!!!

I would recommend everyone NOT to go there. This isn't a place where you will feel welcome one bit. We showed up early in the middle of the week and we had family there already who been there for the whole week and they refused to let us check-in claiming that our site wasn't ready when it hadn't been in use all week. Also they gave us a site several campsites away from our family that had 3 sites all together. The people in the office are rude and claimed they didn't know anything about the campground. The people who are seasonal that stay there are down right rude to you and yell comments at you or just stare at you like you were a criminal. They over charge and if you have a camper there is a charge to use air conditioner. Worst and unfriendly place I have ever been.

We camped here for several years and enjoyed the campground until the new owners took over. They are very rude people and let the campground go downhill. All they seem to care about is collecting money and do not care how the place looks. If you have visitors, especially overnite, It will cost you a lot. There is virtually no security with loud parties and kids running around late at nite. I was suprised to see one favorable review, It must have been one of the owners trying to overcome the bad reviews. My last visit was just to see if any improvements were made, but unfortunately it was worse than ever. I won't go back and I would not recommend this place.

Their biggest plus point is their location, its on a small lake, and that's about it. the owners are pretty mean and unhelpful. they say that have kayaks, boats etc. but they were not maintained, the oars were falling apart. I was hoping to see the restroom getting cleaned, but they were not during our stay in memorial day weekend. Its mostly for RVs, if you are doing tent camping like us, look elsewhere - seriously
