I love Pop's! I went with a group of ten 20-30 year olds, solely on a friend's recommendation, and it was fantastic! The drive up is beautiful, nice and remote. All the employees were very friendly and down to earth, and all the kids who live there full time help out loading wood and doing work around the sites. It was very inexpensive, even the camp store was very reasonably priced. They deliver a TON of fire wood right to your site, and there's a little lake with sites right on it's edge. There were a few sites that were close together, but for the most part, they were secluded. They even try to space people out as much as they can. One of the best things was that they separate the tents and the campers/trailers, so you don't hear the hum of generators all night. Pop himself is awesome, the place is like one huge family. You can pretty much do whatever you want there too, as long as you don't bother anyone around you. The bathrooms were well maintained and there's free hot water for showers. The stargazing is pretty great as well. This is my new regular campground!
It's one big family! This campground has been passed down through the generations from one "Pop" to the next "Pop" and continues with "Kat". Pop's faithful companion "Raja" rides around in the cart with him and "Bernard" greets you on arrival if he's not running along behind Kat's cart.
The campsites are very wooded and they are not on top of each other. The campers that go year after year are now like family.
We love it!
