Muddy sites, swamp gasses that smell like sewerage, and gigantic obnoxious signs everywhere stating an unrealistic and arbitrary speed limit (walking speed?) that is subject to the disposition of the unstable miserable hag who works the front desk. I was initially told 3mph and later humiliated in front of a visiting friend because I didn't drive "less than 3mph!" If you want to be overcharged and treated like an animal, then this is the place for you. I'll never return. Any good reviews are obviously written by staff -- or the miserable hag, herself.
We are seniors and have been camping for years. The campground itself is well maintained. The owners however need to brush up on their manners. We felt like we were being harassed and when they did have something to say they were quite rude. We were doing about 5 mph in the campground (limit is 3 mph) and we were followed and told to slow down. We apologized for "speeding" and were watched constantly very nerve wracking.
It is an exceptional safe campground. The owners sons watch around the clock for intruders and it's a very clean campground, the cleanest I've seen here in Hampton.Great location;only within 2 miles of the ocean. The owners are very thorough with the check in which makes me believe it's a well rounded place to be. We return every year.Three cheers for the Shaws!!!Keep up the good work.
