Will never go back to this campground.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/28/11
When I called to make my reservation for that evening I was told by the woman in charge that I could go to a smaller site which was available for three nights, or the larger site that was available for the one night and then face having to move the next morning. I decided to take the smaller site having understood that I would not have to move as it was not resevered for the following nights. I arrived late that evening and checked in with no problems. I was delighted to find my site was actually very nice and not particularly too small. The next morning I went to pay the camp lady for the next two nights and was told that not only would I have to move sites, but that I could not reserve for two more nights because "during this busy season you cannot reserve one night at a time...it's just too busy." Huh?!!! So I to a different site and decided to check out the other campground in town for the third night in Ptown. On the second morning I was awakened at 6am by the nighboring tent of people from Quebec who spoke at the top of their lungs and whose children were also running around at this time. No respect for others who were still in their tents and presumably still sleeping at this early hour. The campsites are one on top of the other and have no privacy nor hedges nor anything to deflect the sound of your camping neighbors. At this point my resolve was greater than ever to check out the other campground. I left early, leaving my tent set up as I knew I had till 11am to be off my site. When I came back at 10:00am my neighbor campers told the that "the guy" was looking for me and wondered when I would be leaving. Huh?!!! I didn't know my neighbor campers from Adam and they were not my keepers. And it wasn't even 11am yet. I was ever more sure that moving to the other campground was a good idea. And getting back to the woman who wouldn't let me make reservations for two nights in a row...the campground had plenty of empty sites by the time I left in the morning. I felt like she was really yanking my chain for no good reason but to be powerful. Upon reading all the other reviews of this place that say the staff is rude, I would agree. Even if not uup front, but covertly yes. And the bathrooms are outdated and the mosquitoes nail you while you're on the toilet. Yuk! The other campground on the Ptown side of route 6 is leaps and bounds superior. Way safer for families with kids who want to talk in and out of town.

love this campground
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/22/11
We loved the location and the landscaping. Every site had some privacy because of the trees and shrubs. The owners are locals and friendly. This is not a serious RV campground but better for small trailers, pop-ups and tents. We set up our pop-up and screen house and we are great. It is quiet with good services and close to bike trails. It is an affordable way to stay in P-town which can be quite pricey.

Terrible place!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/21/09
Let me start by saying that i have been here 3 times. i though that this was theonly campground that had open reservations so i felt as though i had no choice but to return, and now that I know that the Campground Coastal Acres is available i will never go back to this dump again. The bathrooms are dirty, the spaces are tiny, and the owners who run the ground are downright rude! There is a man who goes by during the day on a golf cart and in the evening, when its dark, sans flashlight ( well really i just think its off). He is very rude. First time i went camping here I was playing dominos around midnight with one person and a flashlight at the picnic table. We were not even talking, and he snuck up behind us and told us it was quiet hours and we weren't to have the flashlight on/ be up at that time. the second time i witnessed this man go into the womans bathroom to tell a handicapped woman who was showering to move her car, and then when she went to report the incident to the front desk, they yelled at her and DID NOT APOLOGIZE. Lastly, i returned again, and this was the last time. The "night watchman" (guy on golf cart) was again so rude to my friends and myself that we left. I honestly believe that this man gets excited or "gets his kicks" from showing his campground authority. Please do not camp here if you are looking for a fun time.

Never to return
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/13/09
Very little was liked. It was small. The real unpleasant experience is the unprofessional conduct of staff members. The elderly gentleman on the golf cart was truly unprofessional. The policies are fair but the policing and enforcement of the rules is abnormal and scary. See other reviews for yourself. This writer will not recommend nor will return to this camp site regardless of the low cost for simple life.

10 yr customer.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/19/08
Have been visiting this campground for 10 yrs. off and on. I have always found the staff to be consistantly helpful and pleasant. Campgrounds are made of DIRT, thats what camping is, and it is very nice, and if you expect more....Go to a hotel! The bathrooms and shower we always maintained, FYI .25 for a decent amount of time in the shower, wasn't meant to be a luxury campground. We always enjoy it and will return this year!

STAY AWAY
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/3/08
The owners are rude, but if you read enough reviews, you will know that. OR just call and see if you can talk to some that is friendly. Probably NOT. I went to stay there once and was treated like a DOG. I went their once to visit family and was treated like a STRAY DOG. They do NOT KNOW what customer service is.

Outdated and Overpriced
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/10/07
We stayed at Dunes' Edge the second weekend in September hoping to avoid the busy season. Thank goodness we did because I cannot imagine going during the summer when this campground is full! About half the campsites are horrid. Imagine a 8x4 patch of dirt, completely treeless, bordered on one side by a fence with condos looking down on you and on the other two sides identically tiny and dirty campsites. Since the campground doesn't allow for you to reserve a specific site, it's the luck of the draw as to where they put you. At $33 a night for a tent, I think you can find much better on the Cape. The bathrooms are beyond outdated. The toilet stalls aren't even inside the bath house. The showers are old, small, and dirty with torn material shower curtains hanging. The pay for shower charge a quarter for 3 minutes (not a bargain for what you get). The owners are extremely stingy with water, and the faucets are not only difficult to turn on, but they also are the type that you have to hold turned in order to get water. It was impossible to wash my toddler's hands without another person's help to hold the water on. And they call this family oriented?! Finally, the most infuriating thing is that the website boasts that you can leave your car and WALK everywhere. They are absolutely out of their minds! Unless, of course, a 3 mile one way hike is your idea of a walk to the beach. You are completely secluded on this disaster of a campground and cannot get around without a bike or vehicle. The owners are as old as their bathrooms and you feel monitored every second (they're constantly driving by in their little golf carts asking you if you're ok). This is NOT a vacation. A big thumbs down from me and my family.

Could not be better located!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/26/07
We went to this camping in August 2007. It is really well located, within short walking distance of Provincetown and close to the National Seashore bike paths (for easy bike access to 2 beaches). I saw a few reviews saying the staff was rude, but they were very helpful to us. It is true however that reservations seem to be "paper&pencil", so it is not hard to believe they could have lost one... I would recommend to ask e-mail confirmation... (they do send confirmations through e-mail, although they did not seem to have any computer in the office!)

Will never return
By Fast, 5/8/07
Unfortunatly this campground has an arrogant and very rude staff. After 3 visits, 2 of which were horrible thanks to the staff, I decided it was not worth a 4th visit. Although the campground is peaceful and attractive, the owners (who are the staff basically) have no respect for their customers. I wouldnt recommend this campground, there are several other choices in the area which are better priced and more professionally run, be but be your own judge and I promise i wont say i told ya so!

This was the worst camping experience of my life
By Roadrunner, 9/13/06
The owners and staff are terribly rude and arrogant. The lost our reservations, called us liars regarding our arrival times and ruined what was to be a vacation of a lifetime. On top of it all they still charged the full 50.00/night to set up a tent just to get by the one night. We had to move on teh next day spending a full day searching out another location. It soured me so that I will never return to PTown.
