Wonderful campground and fine owners
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/5/11
My wife (Deb) and I have been going to CCC three times per year (Memorial day, Fourth of July, and late fall) for the last five years. We cannot find a thing to dislike. The cost to rent a cabin is extremly low and Zoe, the owners' chocolate lab is a beauty. Hiking opportunities are abundant and the nearby village of Wellsboro is a very pretty place with great restaurants. Harland's is our favorite eatery. If you like riding on trains, the Tioga Central excursion train runs north from Wellsboro three times daily on weekends. The campground owners, Lindy and Jim, are very accomodating, and the support staff is very courteous and timely in performing house keeping duties. If you are a partier, I suggest that you find another place, but if you want a peaceful escape, CCC is at the top. Bill Mammosser

Two Thumbs Way Up!
By Mike, 8/22/10
I think you can tell from the list of reviews here that they are overwhelmingly positive, and having just spent 9 days at CCC, we wholeheartedly concur! The owners were friendly and accommodating, and from the first moment we felt very much at home. Jim not only led us to our site, but helped us back in. They delivered the firewood we purchased. Our personal trash can and recycling bin were emptied daily. The laundry room and bath house were clean and well kept. CCC is a completely wooded campground, and the entire property was very well maintained. Our site was among those most requested and had plenty of room. I walked the entire campground several times for my morning exercise and I found the sizes of their sites and proximity to each other was quite comfortable. Certainly more roomy than a lot of campgrounds we've been to. We have a 28' travel trailer, so we like to plan ahead to have our choice of sites. This is not a party place so if that's what you're looking for, keep looking. Yes, the owners are entitled to establish their rules and quiet hours--it's their business and their livelihood. We had no problem with quiet time from 10PM to 7AM, and it didn't mean you couldn't sit out after 10 and enjoy your campfire. You are just asked to respect your neighbors as you would want them to respect you by keeping your voices low. So the negative reviews you read here clearly do not express the opinion of most of those who have camped at CCC. If you want a peaceful, lovely place to camp with proximity to hiking, the bike trail, horseback riding, kayaking, lake boating, river rafting, and lots more, this is the place. We'll be back!

Great camp after a long cycle ride
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/19/10
My friend and I took a loooong 6 hr cycle ride up to that area and I found CCC on the web. I called the morning we left and they got us a night in one of their basic cabins, thats all we needed. I was totally comfortable with cabin C-2, surprised to see a fridge. Neat. $50 is SUPER cheap considering the location, decent bathrooms, campfire. Yes, campfires!! Cmon, even luxury hotels dont have campfires. But really, if you are a party person from the burbs or city, dont come here and ruin the peace. This is not a place to abuse. Cant wait to come back labor day weekend. If you ride, take 287 north from Jersey Shore up to 660 to the campground. 287 is a sweet long, flowing ride. And going back south, take 287 S to 414 W, then 44S back to Jersey Shore. 414 is awesome and recommended by the owners.

Great Place, Nice Owners, Good Service
By Frank, 7/24/10
Actually stayed same time as 'Virginia' & the one not putting their name on the review. I have to agree with the owners. We biked & hiked all day & were tired in the evening & just wanted to relax. Our camper was near "that group" & welcomed the owner coming to quiet them down. Overheard 1 of them who had a little to much to drink give him a hard time. We've camped a lot & everyone has rules. We love going back to the ones that enforce them, especially observence of "quiet time". They also took us to our site, delivered firewood & had a smile in the morning when we came in for coffee (complimentary even ! ). The bathrooms were exceptionally clean & decorated nicely. The best asset is their short hiking trail to the PA Grand Canyon. We'll be back & will tell all of OUR camping friends.

Though I was back in kinder garden
By Virginia, 7/19/10
There is nothing I liked about this place except it was close to the grand canyon. The people were rude from the time we checked in until we finally left on sunday. Beside being rude they lied about everything. You can't even sit out at the campfire and talk and enjoy yourself without being yelled at. Would not tell anyone of my camping friends to go there. Our site was not large enough for our unit, it stuck out in the driveway. Lied on what site they would give us, there was no place to park your truck.

Agree with Concentration Camp - Never again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/19/10
Rules are outragous - got the feeling from the moment I walked in the door that they didn't want us there - got yelled at by owner at 8 minutes after 10 because we were sitting around a campfire talking - then he hid in the trees watching us while we sat around camp fire - who dioes that! - kinda creepy - isn't that what you are suppose to do while camping? would highly recommend going elsewhere - we have been all over the state camping and have NEVER had such an awful experience with a campground.

Can't wait to go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/27/09
Pro:We really liked this place- felt right at home and had a great time. We have 2 labs and they played with the owners lab, Zoey. Great hiking trail to the Canyon. Large qiuet sites with a lot of trees. The people next to us had been camping here for a many years and said it was their favorite place to come as well. The WiFi had a good signal and it was free for the first hour each day of our stay which was ample time for us to check our emails and do our online banking. We found Wellsboro charming and will be coming back again and staying at this campground. If there are any cons it would be for us that they are not open during the winter and we love to ski and would like to stay there.

Our Favorite Place for Memorial Day
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/9/09
The rules and the way they are inforced is why we come back. Everyone who wants a nice quite stay and have their children stay asleep when they put them to sleep and not woken up by loud neighbors should come to Canyon Country Campground. We have been going here for the past 3 years and we have never had any problems with anyone on the staff or owners, thye have always been friendly and helpful.. The bathrooms are always spotless and cleaned. When we stayed here over Memorial Day there we people asked to be quiet after 10PM and follow the rules or they should leave. They left but showed no class by honking their horns on the way out. Waking up the kids that were already asleep. The worst part of that was that they with with their Mother. Go figure-??but we were all gratefull that they left. We will always return and that is why they are always full for the Holiday weekends. We suggest that you try it yourself and see how nice it is.
