Can't wait to go back
By Linda, 01/04/10
Pro:We really liked this place- felt right at home and had a great time. We have 2 labs and they played with the owners lab, Zoey. Great hiking trail to the Canyon. Large qiuet sites with a lot of trees. The people next to us had been camping here for a many years and said it was their favorite place to come as well. The WiFi had a good signal and it was free for the first hour each day of our stay which was ample time for us to check our emails and do our online banking. We found Wellsboro charming and will be coming back again and staying at this campground. If there are any cons it would be for us that they are not open during the winter and we love to ski and would like to stay there.

Our Favorite Place for Memorial Day
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/09/09
The rules and the way they are inforced is why we come back. Everyone who wants a nice quite stay and have their children stay asleep when they put them to sleep and not woken up by loud neighbors should come to Canyon Country Campground. We have been going here for the past 3 years and we have never had any problems with anyone on the staff or owners, thye have always been friendly and helpful.. The bathrooms are always spotless and cleaned. When we stayed here over Memorial Day there we people asked to be quiet after 10PM and follow the rules or they should leave. They left but showed no class by honking their horns on the way out. Waking up the kids that were already asleep. The worst part of that was that they with with their Mother. Go figure-??but we were all gratefull that they left. We will always return and that is why they are always full for the Holiday weekends. We suggest that you try it yourself and see how nice it is.

Concentration Camp Anyone?
By Matthew, 05/26/09
I don't think I can describe my experience here in less than 4000 characters, but since thats all the computer allows me to do I guess I have to. Upon arrival, my group was treated with disrespect to the fullest extent. We felt a very un-welcoming vibe and right away I knew it was a mistake. The campsites are extremely small and you are right on top of your neighbors. Bedtime is 10:00 p.m. so make sure you DO NOT LEAVE your campsite any later. Me and two friends were taking a walk to go look at stars at 10:15 and we were told by the ranger to report back to our campsite. He asked if we knew what a 10:00 curfew meant. By the way we are all 18 years old. The ranger was VERY rude to us. When we returned to our tent we began talking for 2 hours. The next morning we found out that neighbors complained that they could hear us all night. As I said before you are so close to other campers that you MUST whisper in order for them not to hear you. The speed limit in this campsite is 2.5 miles an hour. I know a lot about cars and in order to maintain a 2.5 mile an hour speed limit you must be on the break the entire time. If you are going 2.5 miles an hour it would take you about 15 minutes just to get from the entrance to your campsite. I was going 8 miles an hour and I got yelled at by the ranger once again. I beleive that 8 mph is a safe speed. I was asked if I was loitering by a woman who works there and the dirty and negative looks we recieved never stopped. We got so fed up with the RULES of the campsite which were obnoxiously posted all over the campsite. There were 4 to 5 handouts in each bathroom to be exact. Canyon Country Campground also has a NO REFUND POLICY. I beleive that this is how they make there money. The owners set these impossible rules to follow so that the campers get fed up and leave. The owners then pocket the money and can re-sell the campsite immedietly to somebody else who is STUPID enough to buy it. We paid for 3 nights and only stayed one. Sure we lost the money that we put out but we wanted to get out of that place so bad that we would have done ANYTHING. Camping is supposed to be about having fun with your friends and family and being able to look at stars at night. With all of the rules and regulations that this campground has it is IMPOSSIBLE to enjoy camping the way that it should be enjoyed. After we left this campsite we went to Stony Fork Creek Campground and we had a blast! I STRONGLY recommend Stony Fork to everybody who is looking for that camping experience. Please do not waste your time or your money on staying at Canyon Country Campground because i promise you that you will regret it. I get sick to my stomach when I just THINK about the people and the way that we were treated during our stay there. So when your sitting at home pondering where you should go camping please put Canyon Country Campground at the bottom of the list. Do not make the same mistake that we made. I wouldn't recommend this campsite even if somebody paid me. I am disgusted.

my boyfriend and I stayed here in sept 08, we had a great time, lots of tree's surrounding the area, great hiking, beautiful scenery, the owners are very nice, the bathrooms were very clean and very helpful!! it was very peaceful, at night you hear the sounds of nature, and natures creatures which was very neat!! we seen lots of deer, turkeys and 1 beer.. which he/she ran the other way as soon as it saw us!! You can also hike to the p.a. grand canyon from this campground.. I have camped out in many places and this one was simply the best!!

Cabin
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/29/08
We stayed in a cabin father's day 2008. Nice campground. Cabin clean. Had small refrigerator, fan, heater. One bunk with 2 full size mattresses. Small porch, fire ring, picnic table. Clean bath house. Friendly helpful staff. Fantastic views in the canyon area easy drive or take the trail. The cabins were wooded, but very close to each other and they plan to add another cabin to the area.

So quiet
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/13/08
We loved this campground. It has trees every where so you feel as though you are in the woods. The hiking trail to the canyon was nice and well marked. Owners are the ones who checked us in and were very nice and helpfull. Don't follow your GPS or you will be on all dirt roads. They give you directions when you call- follow those! We for sure will be back again.

Nice Place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/19/07
We were there in October 06 in a fifth wheel with our friends. We had a great time and loved all of the trees and the campground was so nice and clean. The owners were nice and very helpful. We made reservations for all of us to come back Oct. 07.
