Mallard Bend Campgrounds, Sheridan

Very nice campground,quiet at night.Kids loved the swimming pond.Fire wood delivered right to site.

We made a reservation 3 months in advance. We arrived at 5:45 pm and the office was closed. We were stranded. No one answered the phone. Someone staying at the campground pointed us to an open site. The sites were VERY difficult to get to. Down hill on a rough road through trees. When making a reservation we were not told the campground is locked at nigh. They literally lock you in at 10:30 pm. We let the office know of our plans to be out past 10:30. They promised to leave the gate unlocked and asked that we lock up on our way in. THEY LOCKED US OUT. A family with 2 small children left stranded. Absolutely do not make a reservation here!!!!

I called two weeks ahead of time and prepaid for two sites by the river using a credit card. When we arived I was given a single site, which wasn't even an official camp site and located directly in front of the outhouse. Everyone had fun tromping through our overcrowded campsite. I was told the pool would be open too but when I got there it was closed for the entire weekend. The staff was rude and didn't seem to want to give us the time of day. The metal knobs in the shower were giving off electrical shocks when you touched them. I mentioned it to a staff member who was quick to ignore me. After we packed up our things and headed to the office, I explained how we were upset that everything had gone wrong, how we were treated and that we didn't get what we paid for. I asked for a partial refund. Instead they offered to let us stay free for one night. I at least got the pleasure of telling them I would never be back and of writing this review.
