New Owners Dirty
By ,
Nothing was good about this campground, new owners clueless and dirty. Never cleaned anything, no service and SOOOOOOOO far out of the way from everything

Loved Crystal Rock Campground!
By ,
You will love staying here! We stayed in one of the cabins which were very reasonably priced and came with much needed air conditioning, fridge and microwave. We enjoyed getting free wi-fi in the cabin and watched a few tv shows right on our computer. It was a great cozy cabin experience. The owners of this campground are very accomidating. They go out of their way to stop over and say hello and see if you need anything. Very good homemade breakfast on Sundays. Restrooms and showers were spotless throughout the day. The location was good...only about a 20 minute drive to the attractions and East Harbour Beach. We made the right choice by choosing this campground over Camp Sandusky which sits right next to the highway. This campground was nice and quiet at night. We are already making plans to return in August....it was that much fun! :) You will love it!

Good old fashioned hospitality
By ,
I am new to this review thing so forgive me if I ramble on. I found Crystal Rock Campground on the internet and it seemed like a cheap place to setup camp for a long weekend getaway. When we arrived we were delighted to see a clean place with all the fixins (water, electric, wi/fi). After setting up camp one of the owners came over just to see if we needed anything (that’s a first). The bathrooms were cleaned daily and kept up with throughout the day. The owners were more than happy to give us recommendations to all of the activities in the area and even had maps there that they would highlight the routes for us to where we wanted to go. On Sunday mornings they have a big breakfast in the office (you wont go away hungry). All and all this place was far above what I could have expected. As I said I was just looking for cheap. I WILL BE BACK !!

Great Stay
By ,
We just spent last weekend here (4-27 to 4/29) Owner was great, realized I forgot trash bags and he gave me one of his personal one. Very quiet and quaint campground. Came there with my 2 kids and it couldn't have been better. Owner even let me daughter walk his dogs, they never barked the entire weekend. Plan to go back. Thanks

Nice Park with New Owners
By ,
Here's an honest, unbiased review (no, I'm not the owner - LOL) from a fulltime RVer. We stayed at Crystal Rock for over a month in a fifth wheel. Personally, I like this park. We have stayed at some pretty great and pretty awful campgrounds in the past. There's nothing fancy about this place, but it's got what you need, and it's clean. We were on a site with full hookups which accommodated our 40 ft RV and two trucks. I didn't use the public washrooms so I have no comment to provide on this matter. The park grounds were kept clean and the owners were very courteous. The owners have recently purchased the park so I wouldn't put much stock in reviews dating before 2010. The new guys are slowly making improvements to the park. I didn't ask them for much (didn't really need anything) but I'm sure had I needed something, they would have provided help. The area is quiet. There's a road next to the campground, but traffic is limited and not a problem. I found our stay here to be quite peaceful, with no bad experiences whatsoever. We would absolutely stay at this park again. We wish the new guys good luck with their campground. Thanks for everything!

Great location and great place to camp!
By ,
We stayed at Crystal Rock Campground the week after Labor Day in a travel trailer at a full hookup site. It's a well run campground in a great location far enough away to get out of the hustle and bustle, but close enough to many attractions to be convenient. Sites are a good size, mostly grassy, mostly shaded, and include picnic table and a fire ring. It rained quite a bit during our stay and the campground seemed to drain well with no sites retaining excess water or runoff. The facilities were clean and completely functional. I liked the community camp fire. A few nights that I didn't feel like building a fire I was able to hang out there. The staff there are very friendly, helpful, and seem to be willing to do whatever it takes to make your stay enjoyable. One night one of the staff even went to help someone get their fire started as they seemed to be having trouble. They are making improvements to the campground from my observation from last year to this visit. Some of the utilities have been improved, they are adding cable hookups, and wifi is now available in the campground. It also looks like they're adding a pizza oven for next season which looks like fun! The only thing detractor would be some kind of pump/machinery that runs intermittently on the far north side of the property. If you're looking for total and complete silence it may be bothersome from time to time. It certainly was not enough to keep you awake or drown out conversation or anything. Overall I was very pleased with our stay and plan to go back next year!

Lousy Attitude
Disliked the gentleman whom fashioned himself to look like Abraham Lincoln. Poor attitude and has a dislike for Canadians whom pump money into the American economy via travel and tourisim. Get with it buddy, EH !!! If you consider the washrooms newly renovated ill comb the burrs out of youre beard !!

VERY CLEAN and HELPFUL!
By ,
First of all, to all of the women out there... the bathrooms are immaculate (well for camping at least!). I have been camping my whole life and have NEVER had an experience like this one! The Manager was very friendly and delivered our firewood to our site (which most places dont do). This was my first time going to Ohio (we drove from Buffalo, NY) and we planned the vacation to go to Cedar Point. We had brought my dog with us, along with her crate so that she could stay in the cabin, Jason (the manager) only requested that I leave a number if she gets too loud, he then offered to let her out a couple times for me so that I would not have to drive back 3 times from Cedar Point. I agreed to this only because he and the owner are both animal people and were both VERY friendly with my dog and my family. We are already planning our trip back, not even for Cedar Point... just to stay at this campground again!!! - Tabitha from Depew, NY

Best campground along Ohio's Lake Erie shore
By ,
Everything about Crystal Rock Campground is fantastic. I've camped along Ohio's Lake Erie shore area (from Oak Harbor to Vermilion) regularly every since I retired from the Army 12 years ago. No other campground compares to Crystal Rock (I've stayed at all but a few of them). The camp sites are spacious and well equipped. It is clean, very well maintained, has a friendly and helpful staff, and is just a beautiful place. We used a cabin this time, with three beds. They loaned us an extension cord for our stereo, free; and for our neighbors, they even provided a small refrigerator and microwave. They even delivered our firewood for us to our site. The owner (Sean) and the Maintenance Manager (Jay) go the extra mile to accommodate their guests. It is clear that they truly care. Crystal Rock is the only campground that I will ever use when visiting Lake Erie in the Port Clinton/Sandusky area.

Beautiful Campgroud
By ,
We really had a nice stay at Crystal Rock as tent campers. The campground is beautiful, clean restrooms, hot shower, better then a lot of state parks we visited on our vacation. Thanks to Jason for all his tips and a nice evening by the Bon-Fire. We will come back! Familie Lemke from Germany
