Nazi hosts

Like the others I agree the place is in a beautiful location, but it needs maintenance and a staff that cares more about the grounds than harassing the campers. I have never been threatened so many times for minor problems. We were actually told that if we didn't move our cars from parking spots they would call the sheriff! Mind you the place was half empty and there was no demand or need for these spaces. It would be nice if the owners hired people that didn't hate everyone.

Will never ever return again

This a great campground if you want to have your experience micromanaged to the point that if you want to do something completely crazy (like breathe) you better ask permission first. I do agree with other posts- great location, nice beach, clean facilities but the staff was awful. They were at my site 3-4 times a day telling me what I was "doing wrong". It got to the point I felt like they were singling me out to yell at me. I am a single mom up there with my one son and dog- can't be too out of control with a group like that. I think they were making up rules as they went to argue with me about. For instance you can't park on the grass (completely reasonable) but the man stopped to tell me that my car could not be parked in the site at an angle (to allow me to access the trunk) it had to be straight in. Even though all the tires were already on the pavement IN MY SITE. Seriously, What does it really matter! They spend so much time chasing people around in their golf carts that they can't maintain the lawns or volleyball courts so don't both bringing a ball unless you wear tennis shoes and long pants because the weeds are prickly and long enough to scratch your calves. Perhaps they should stop getting into everyone's business about every little thing and keep things usable. In 4 days I heard- don't park there, don't park like that, don't walk there, your garbage bag can't sit there, your dog can't be on that lawn, your kid can't ride there, you can't leave your site, you can't use that stove unless it's in your trailer... blah blah blah. So I say come to Anderson Cove if you want to park one car perfectly straight, sit at the picnic table, not go anywhere or do anything because that is all that is allowed. Seriously the list of things you can do will be much shorter then the things you can't do.

Very Nice but....

About the same as the other reviewer. Very nice campground, our group site was nice, good view, nice facilities, ect. But the people who run it were super uptight. Make sure to abide by the rule sheet or expect to be hounded by staff. im sure they mean well and probably get tired of reminding people of the rules but threatening customers with forest service fines isn't the best way to go about it.

Not sure we'd go back!
By ,
Beautiful place! Gorgeous surroundings, lots of shade and close to the water. However, our entire group couldn't help but be taken back by how uptight every senior citizen that worked there was. No noise or fun after ten o'clock (we were merely singing campfire songs with kids), go seven mph and be stopped by the elderly in his golf cart and be told the speed limit is five mph. Having them call our home phone while we were up there vacationing to tell us our dog barked one too many times. Overall, the setting and views were awesome but the employees need to relax alot more. Way too uptight.
