Camp-A-While, Hegins

The campground appears to have well kept grounds, has a pond, has a nice swimming pool. Now for the minuses: the campsites are rather small and close together. This is especially so in the tent camping area, where the sites vary in size and a lot of them just are not large enough to set up a family tent (sleeping 5 to eight people). We also noted, as another reviewer has written, that there is a lot of gravel in the tent camping area. We also noted that some of the sites were sloped too much to place a tent and dining canopy on. If you have something other than a tent, you may want to give this place a try. If tent campimg, try another place!

The tent sites are tiny and chock full of gravel. Try sleeping on that. Also bad for your tent. Clearly not tent-camper friendly. We were about 50 feet from an enormous RV that was off-putting in an otherwise natural setting. We were told to keep our noise down at 7pm when the website clearly states that quiet hours are from 11pm - 8am. We were told that if we had to be warned again, it would be by the police who would escort us off the premises. Now there were a lot of us, but still, 7 pm? When there were only two or three other groups in the entire campground? And no kids to speak of? Really put a damper on what was supposed to be a relaxing day. I will never visit this site again.
