Long's Retreat & Campground, Latham

I have been a permanent camper for over 10 years. I look forward to camping every weekend. My family has had many good times and made alot of new friends over the years. The staff is excellent and the grounds are always kept clean. Keep up the good work!

We've rented a cabin for a week in each of the last three years. Each year the teenagers are one year older and we're afraid they're thinking it won't be cool anymore, but I think they look forward to the week more each year. The grounds are kept clean, the staff is attentive and nobody is ever bored. Spend a little time outdoors in this area, and you'll agree Southern Ohio is God's thumbprint. One feature of the area is not advertised by Long's.... but it should be. I don't know of any wireless carriers who give you any bars at all in this neck of the woods. Might as well just turn it off. Scary? Only for a couple hours. Then you look up and you notice kids bicycling, kids walking, swimming, I saw one reading a book last year, NO LIE !! With no way to "plug in ", you would think todays kids would flip out, but I think they actually enjoy talking not texting and actually having both hands free. The fishing is not great, but a bad day fishin' beats a good day workin' If you look to relax when you go on vacation, I think you'll like Long's

I think what I like best is there is always something to do. We have been camping at Long's for several years and have never been disappointed. Sometimes late at night they run out of toilet paper but for the most part the restroom/shower houses are kept clean. All the doors lock & all stalls have shower curtains. We take people with year that have never been there and they always want to go back. Try the moosetracks ice cream it's awesome.

There are two shower house/restrooms which are decent. We stayed back in the E section and the bathroom listed on the map was a men/womens outhouse style restroom with no lights, door did not shut all the way or lock. Really nasty. There was no Verizon phone service. No noise curfew...Saturday night some partied all night letting off fireworks, yelling, screaming... Not a pleasant night.

I can't say enough about the operation of this resort! I am so impressed with the staff and especially the owner, Tip Long. He is very visible and works along side his awesome staff. I am simply amazed at the growth of this place. Just beautiful. When we retire in 8 years I look fwd to permanent camping there. Great job Tip and staff!

First off, this place is CLEAN! Super Clean! The beach has diving platforms, a big slide a special area for little ones and even a concrete patio with waterfalls, buckets dumping water and etc during lifeguard breaks...oh, and the lifeguards are actually resonsible young adults! The concession stand is not pricey and make sure you order a pork tenderloin sandwich, it is bigger than your head! There are 2 areas for kids and parents to drive race cars around a safe track, water guns, put put and lotts lotts more. You are driving down beautiful tree lined roads in the middle of nowhere, then boom there is the resort. Gorgeous Ohio Valley location. ENJOY!!

We have been going to Long's Retreat since the 80's and it just gets better. The water slides are great and the beach is nice. There are plenty of activities for the kids/grandkids. The owners are active in the everyday business and work to keep things affordable and enjoyable! The Vacation package is great! For those who are less in to camping, try the deluxe cabins - they cost more but are great for large families or family groups.

Wonderful slides, Go carts and many more activities.. Swimming camping boating, Paddle Boats.. Great food!! Its hard to tell all the wonderfull thing that goes on at this place.. I give it a 5 star rating..
