Lake is beautiful but rates are out of this world and there is nothing there but a beautiful lake. Swim area does not have a nice beach, no water slides or diving boards, no go carts, mini golf, nothing but management is changing lot rent to match a place he can not compare to and making everyone pay for their 4 wheelers & etc. The trails your paying to ride on are dangerous & all rutted out. You do not charge $1500.00 & then charge 99.00 for 4 wheeler, 149.00 for razors, mules etc. that came w/your lot when you rented. He is charging to much for a place w/no amenities. Do not go to Mineral Springs Lake unless you want to be taken advantage of its all about the money. Nothing about the people who support the campground and pay the bills through the years.
Our family checked out this campground before we made reservation. Yes, you an bring your ATV ($20 for 1st day, $5 each additional day) The campground was full of permanent campers - mostly old, run-down abandoned campers with make-shift porches and clutter everywhere. Looks like a place people would go to hide out! The roads were gravel and dirt. The camp store was thinly stocked, however the staff seemed helpful. This campground could be a winner if they would invest some money into it. Really couldn't tell about the lake all of the permanent campers blocked the view. I would not recommend this campground.
Hey, I been a camper at MSLR, from the beginning. I have watched the evolution of the camp ground, the lakes beautiful, they've expanded, updated, and the staff is friendly, and accommodating. I am looking forward to camping there this summer. The prices are amongst the cheapest, I 've seen. You should check out the fresh water jelly fish, the fall. Head out to Mineral Springs, you'll love the natural beauty of the campground.
The scenery is the only nice thing about this campground, if your allowed to stay long enough to enjoy it, and that's getting run down. The owner and staff never have a kind word or deed for anyone. Paid for permanent site and made the place beautiful with a bottom deck, building it ourselves. Many people are pulling out simply because of the owner Bill and the so called security he has watching your every move, making you afraid to do anything or be kicked out. When we were leaving he said we couldn't take the deck we built and paid for, that it was landscaping on his property! Security doesn't do anything except watch what you do and report back to Bill. He changes the rules according to which side of the bed he woke up on, which is always the wrong side, and he changes them often. Don't expect any special treatment if your a permanent camper. You're still charged to swim or fish in a muddy lake and there is nothing else to do unless you own an ATV which there are hundreds of these. Only rule he doesn't have is that these ATV's go all hours so forget a peaceful night listening to the crickets. Place is also kid unfriendly. Bill runs (scares) all the kids back to their campsites at 10 p.m. this includes anyone under 18. We've camped all over the state of Ohio and this is the absolute worse ever. You couldn't pay us to go back here!
This will be my third summer at Mineral Springs. I have a lot leased there, not 200 yards from the lake. Beautiful view. I love taking my dogs there every weekend and relaxing. Everything is great there. My only complaint is the beach. It needs more sand and when you first walk into the water it's all sharp, little rocks. The slides and the docks are fun though, but the beach just needs some fixing up. Besides that, I would say everything else is awesome. :)
We have camped at Mineral Springs campground for many years. Many improvements have been made over the years. This year (2009) we checked it out and found it very clean and neat. The only problem areas are where campers who are there don't take care of their trailers or campsites. Dirty trailers, weeds, junk. The majority of the campsides are very neat. Nice clean trailers, flowers, shrubs, etc. Most of the people who camp there take pride in their campsites. The people who come in to just run their 4 wheelers don't seem to care about how their area looks. The campground is like a small community that always taker care of their
campsites. Many large fish have been caught from the lake. Fishing is very good! As for owner/management we're glad that he has rules that he tries to uphold. At one point when someone else was the manager things went down hill fast. Everything is much better now. My only complaint would be that there too many 4 wheelers who do not stick to the 4 wheel paths in the woods and race thru the campground. This needs to be taken care of. It started when someone else was the Manager and we all hope that the owner/manager will do something about it!!
We're looking forward to a great summer of camping and fishing!!
The lake is by far the best thing about this park. The fishing is nothing to write home about. The worst thing is the management. The owner is currently managing and keeps changing prices on different items, i.e., roof above your deck (which you have to order through him). Basically, just about anything has to be approved by hime and if he can get a cut of the money he'll find a way to do it. His own kids don't even speak to him anymore. He doesn't follow any rules and gives people he likes better deals on lots, so you have to catch him so you can get the same deal. Other than riding golf carts/ATVs there's not much to do. There's a small swimming area on one end, but nothing special.
