Great Waterfront Campground
This is a great campground for a get away. This campground is water front, although all of the waterfront sites are for tents only. RV camping is only a stones throw away from the Shenendoa River and you can see the river from the sites. Electric hookup only, no water or septic.
Only bad thing is the dump site is not level, so you tanks won't completely empty, so plan on pumping out somewhere else. They do have fresh water so you can fill your tanks.
Swimming in the river is great, we have stayed twice, and both time the water level was very low. Even so, there are spots that are 6 -7 feet deep, so great swimming holes.
Fishing is also really good. The water is crystal clear, you can see to the bottom, 3 - 4 foot carp are plentiful with a few bass and trout. I only managed to reel in carp, and each time they were so big they broke my line.
I fished fly's, spinning tackle and used chicken. I was only able to hook'em using chicken though, smart fish.
Owner of the site is really nice and helpful. Nice selection from the store and very cheap. They could charge more for the supplies but barely charge over what you could find at walmart.
