Shenandoah Hills Campground, Madison

Rudest owners I have ever encountered in 30 years of camping We were invited to go to dinner with some local folks....and THEY MADE THEM PAY to come pick us up @ our site...they wouldnt send someone to let us know and our phones didnt work ...they would NOT even allow one to stay at store and the other to pick us up even when told they were not getting out or staying...these people are anal about the dollar....I hope the gas prices drive them out of business!!! So UNLESS you are desperate to be treated badly dont go there.

The owners are friendly, they watch out for their visitors and make sure rules are followed. They care about safety and so do we. You go there to relax and we are never disappointed. The peace and quiet allows us precious time to enjoy our surroundings. Read the rules before you go so you won't complain about them, if you don't like the rules don't go. This campground is what it is and to those who enjoy being there, they just can't wait to get back. The owners care about their visitors and they show it by taking good care of the grounds, the store and are there to help not hinder. We go back as much as possible and we are never disappointed.

I would like to say that we totally had a good time. Our site was a prime location compared to the others sites. The people running the campsite were very kind to us. Sometimes when people go into a place and have an attitude to begin with may place their perception of someone or something totally different than those that approach things with an positive attitude. Myself, my husband and my sister and her husband had a good time, they had an ice cream social, bingo, a hayride for the kids and a DJ on Saturday night. The only thing that needs anything is to update the facilities, but that's the only thing that we all agreed to. We will definitely come back again.
