We camped in a 22 ft pop up trailer with slides. Plenty of room but we were a bit early in the season so the campground was not crowded. Out from town a bit but not so far that it is inconvenient. Beautiful, well maintained camp ground. Staff was very friendly. Great on-site cafe with good food. Showers, laundry and cafe were all clean and well maintained. Nightly entertainment is available later in the season but we missed out due to arriving early for the season. They had a piano which my grand daughter LOVED and she played daily. We will definitely be going back if our grand daughter has anything to say about it. One note about the jeep rentals..... If you have a 4 wheel truck, I wouldn't waste my money on the jeep rentals. Every where we went, we could have easily done in our own truck. Word to the wise, the jeeps have regular street tires...not meant for off-roading as advertised. We had to buy a new tire after only an hour on the trails. Needless to say, we went back and arranged to buy the additional tire protection. Staff was real understanding but should have made it clear that the tires on their jeeps are regular street tires. We wasted about 1/2 day dealing with a blow out.
agree with other camper too much harassing by employees about minor rules. Too many silly rules like moving your tent every three days and not having mats in front of your camper door. Silly silly. they do not have enough showers for the amount of campers there. Should not have to stand in line like cattle to bathe and then be told hurry up. common sense would tell you that. it is in a beautiful place however. won't go back.
go to texas much friendlier people.
Good location unless you want to be closer to town. Has a river running by with a creek diverted to run through the campground. Cabins are very nice (we didn't stay in them but saw the insides).
The campground is not super cramped as some are but has area to spread out. There is internet wifi but it's weak in some areas so you may need a booster to get a strong signal. Lots of staff to keep things clean and quiet. Little tolerance for rowdy, loud campers so if that's you then prepare to be kicked out. If you like quiet, great.
Nice little gift shop/general store. There's an outdoor hot tub (closes at 10pm), dated playground equipment but functional, Jeep rental (on par with other jeep rental prices), lots & lots of hummingbirds, a wide variety of sites & hook-ups.
